[She turns her camera to show off... her familiar, a Cerulean Drake.]

What I should name them. I'm still getting acquainted with things here, but this seems like a good place to start and a good way to get familiar with some of the other faces here.

I'm not very particular, but maybe something to do with the colour?

[She thumbs at her chin curiously as she looks over to it. No, she still doesn't have any ideas and up until now, she's just been calling it her 'friend.']

Seru? [Like, the first half of the color name. It's not creative, but she didn't specifically say they had to be good -- and he tried.]

So I'm not sure yet on either of those. I thought I might present a few options and let them pick.

Now that you mention it, it really does look a bit like water. I'm getting some really good ideas from everyone here. It might be hard to choose just one.

[As he talks, a fearsome looking antlion crawls into view and perches on Darin's shoulder. It's about the size of a small dog with a mottled yellow carapace with purple runes etched into it.]

Also, everyone else I've met seems to have a really pretty or cool looking one. I got stuck with this guy.

It's definitely smart enough to understand. Mine just hasn't chosen to answer me yet.

[If anything, it seemed to be left up to her creative process. Maybe it's the drake's way of separating itself from the life it knew back home. Or perhaps Aerith is looking for too much meaning in something that doesn't have that much complexity.]

I thought I'd present it with options and it could pick the one it likes most. But it sounds like most of the others here haven't had the same experience.

Hello, Aerith. My name's Morgan. And if you'll forgive the brief diversion, you're looking radiant -- which I mention in no small part because it's such a pleasant change to see someone looking like they're doing well here.

[Plenty of people are grumpy, unhappy, or miserable thanks to being yanked out of their worlds and here. Very understandably, but doesn't that just make someone smiling and friendly all the nicer to meet?]

There are so many different words for blue, but I think you might do with putting a spin on it? Like instead of 'Azure', go with 'Azurias' or something.

I think you have a good idea there. Many of the options I've been offered are a little on the nose, which I don't mind, but you might have a point. I'm going to let it pick the one it prefers and then maybe we can spruce it up a bit. Make it real special.

You know, it reminds me a bit of my friend's kotka, Herschel. I believe he named it after his father. Perhaps you could try something similar?

... I mean, not similar to the name Herschel, of course. But naming it after someone who's important to you!

[In hindsight, this seems like a relatively obvious idea, but for whatever reason, it hasn't crossed her mind until Allura makes mention of it.

The thing is, it seems like the most prominent people in her life are all people who've been important to her in one way or another. Maybe it's that Aerith classifies... everyone as being important. That's a tall order, picking one or two above the others.]

I didn't think of that. Could be a challenge. But that's a good idea.

like a jade dragon.... its wings look like autumn leaves floating on a stream. needs a beautiful name to suit it. it's some kind of dragon right??


izumi is a pretty name for a girl in my world 泉 it means a spring, like a fountain. cuz the color is like clear water, but a fountain has action, its not still water, its dynamic but steady, water with tempered force behind it. a dragon deserves a powerful name.
