[The video feed turns on, revealing Aerith in all of her glory, wonderment gaze and more. She looks... bright. Cheery, all things considered.]

There we go!

[Lifting a hand, she wiggles her fingers in greeting.]

Hi there. My name is Aerith and I'd like some opinions onnnnn...

[She turns her camera to show off... her familiar, a Cerulean Drake.]

What I should name them. I'm still getting acquainted with things here, but this seems like a good place to start and a good way to get familiar with some of the other faces here.

I'm not very particular, but maybe something to do with the colour?

[She thumbs at her chin curiously as she looks over to it. No, she still doesn't have any ideas and up until now, she's just been calling it her 'friend.']

Oh! I must have missed it, but I'm glad I'm not the only one who shares that sentiment.

[ As for the phoenix, Pyrrha turns towards it and smiles, then back to Aerith. ]

Not yet. I'm in the same situation as you, actually, so if you have any ideas for him then I'm all ears.

[What do they say about phoenixes? She's never seen one before coming here, but...

There's something about life and rebirth. Can something there be said about them?]

Hm... I don't know if this will help you, but if you want something symbolic, maybe you can pick something that involves the idea of rebirth or revival? Maybe something like 'Res?'

[Except when Aerith says it, it's almost like a soft 'Rez.' 'Resurrection' is what she's going for.]

[ She says it again, just to see how that feels. At that, her phoenix turns its head towards her. She says it again and gives it more thought, and then her eyes light up, as if she's come to some sort of revelation. ]

Oh! I think I know what you're going for -- resurrection, right?

[ She's catching on! ] It's definitely responding to it. I think that's a good sign.

That's right.

[Aerith nods with a smile, which seems to only grow as Pyrrha continues. She didn't expect the naming idea to actually work, so there's some pleasant surprise there.]

A good sign if it's not a bad response, anyway. I'm sure you'll come up with other ideas, too. That was just a really quick one off the top of my head.

It's certainly more progress than I've made. Thank you for the suggestion, I appreciate your help.

[ Pyrrha gives Aerith a nod and reaches over to give her phoenix a little scritch near its neck. ]

I'm Pyrrha, by the way. It sounds like the both of us recently arrived here, then?

It's nice to meet you, Pyrrha.

[She nods in reply to the observation.] And yes, you're right. I can't say I've been here very long. Still feels pretty fresh to me.

[incinerators]

It does, doesn't it?

[ A beat, then: ]

How are you liking it here so far, Aerith?

[inemeraldfaith]

Hmm... I don't dislike it. I don't think I've learned enough about it or been here long enough to have a better idea.

[But she certainly doesn't seem unhappy by any means. In many ways, Camelot is several steps up above the slums. Hard not to miss the familiar in some way, though.]

I'm leaning a little more like, though. The people are really welcoming. I don't think I was expecting that.

[incinerators]

It's true, though; everyone has been very helpful and accommodating. It's nice to know that we're all trying to help one another here.

[ She smiles at the other girl. Aerith is among those people, she thinks, based on their little chat about names. ]

Well, I'm looking forward to seeing what name you settle on! I'm sure you'll choose something very fitting for your familiar.

[That's really the way it should be. In an ideal world, people would spend more time helping one another than the other alternatives. She can't tell if Camelot is actually 'ideal,' but it's...

Well. It's not Midgar. That she's pretty certain about. Helps that she can see the sky, which is something she's used to without sector shells and the machinery structure that Midgar seems to come with.]

I hope so! I'll be sure to let you know what I decide on. If you think of anything else I should consider, let me know. I'm taking everything into consideration, so all names are welcome.

I'll keep that in mind. In all honesty, I've never been great with names, so I may be a little low on ideas... But if you'd like a second opinion on any of them, I'd be willing to help you on those?

[ She says this a little sheepishly. Really, she wishes she coudl be more helpful, but alas... ]

I think I might be the same as well. Not because I don't think a name is important. Mostly because I haven't thought about giving names often.

[Maybe the flowers, but...]

A lot of the names I've been given were based on the drake's appearance. So colours. Or things that have the same colour. They're good idea and they make sense, but I wonder if that's too simple.

I don't think it is; what matters is that your familiar likes the name you choose for it.

[ Even if it's as simple as "Blue". ]

I know how you feel, though. I should put in more thought when it comes to naming my own.

This is true. Maybe they'll like whatever I choose for them. I guess we'll find out one way or another!
