Hm... I think... like this and—

[The video feed turns on, revealing Aerith in all of her glory, wonderment gaze and more. She looks... bright. Cheery, all things considered.]

There we go!

[Lifting a hand, she wiggles her fingers in greeting.]

Hi there. My name is Aerith and I'd like some opinions onnnnn...

[She turns her camera to show off... her familiar, a Cerulean Drake.]

What I should name them. I'm still getting acquainted with things here, but this seems like a good place to start and a good way to get familiar with some of the other faces here.

I'm not very particular, but maybe something to do with the colour?

[She thumbs at her chin curiously as she looks over to it. No, she still doesn't have any ideas and up until now, she's just been calling it her 'friend.']

[Alice is grateful, at least, that Aerith isn't insisting she DROP the "Miss" like so many others do. She doesn't like feeling rude.]

Ah, what other names have you been offered, Miss Aerith?

[She actually has to go through her whole collection that people have given in order to offer it back to Alice. Evidently she's been writing them all down in the order that she received them.]

Uhm... Let's see here.
Seru was the first one. Sky. Sui, which evidently means 'water.' Coral. Azurias. Azure. Nero.

But someone had a really great idea about naming it after someone or something important to me back home.

[Aerith is especially fond of that idea.]

Well, if that's the idea you like most, go with that one, Miss Aerith. It's your familiar, after all.

This is true! I don't think it does any harm not to rush into it. A name can be a very important thing.

[It's how they identify themselves, after all. There still remains the idea, however, that all of their familiars already have names and simply haven't chosen to share them. She can't discount that as a possibility.]

Either way, I don't think I'm lacking for options now. It'll just have to pick the one that it likes most.

You know, Miss Aerith! I think I just thought of a compromise that should work! What if you gave all the other names you like as middle names?

That was actually what I had considered. It was either going to be that or they were just going to have one very long name.

[Also the addition of middle names makes it just as long, truthfully. Either way, it's going to be a mouthful.]

Well, maybe not ALL those names... You do not have to use mine, Miss Aerith if the name becomes too dreadfully long.

Oh, no. I actually like the idea of a long name. Kind of makes them a bit special, don't you think? Not that I'm going to call them that every single time I address them.

Perhaps then, you should give your familiar the longest possible name in Camelot! Let it hold the record for it!

With the ideas people have given me, I think that's very much a possibility!

If you do need MORE names, please let me know.

I think what I might have to do is get a lot of different things and just let you name each one of them.

[Like... plants. Alice could just name her plants.]

What would you let me name?

I was thinking about getting some plants. You can name those, right? And I want a whole bunch of them, so that's plenty of names for you to think up.

I most certainly can, but why not simply ask them for their names?

You know, I used to talk to the flowers back home, but I'm not sure they really replied. [At least, not in the way that might have been expected.] Do they speak in your home world?

All flowers can speak. They just need to be awake.

[Somehow just hearing Alice say that makes sense. Aerith could believe that even the flowers in Midgar sleep, too. Just like any other part of nature.]

In your home how do you determine if they're awake or asleep? Just by if they carry on conversation with you? It sounds like you know a lot about flowers.

Oh, that is quite easy. It depends on how hard the soil is! A soft flower bed leads to the sleepiest of flowers, no matter how much you try to wake them up! But a hard flower bed means they're wide awake!

See, simple!

I didn't know soil had anything to do with it...

[Now she's thinking of all the times she might have messed with the soil. It's probably just a home world thing, but it leaves some food for thought.]

Oh yes! That's why it's called a flower bed, after all! It is quite difficult to be asleep in an uncomfortable bed, Miss Aerith! The flowers themselves told me.

Well, isn't that the same for us, too? [At least, Aerith whilst not a very particular person outwardly, does appreciate a comfortable bed.] The flowers back home for you sound very talkative. Do they tell you stories and things like that?

Oh yes! I simply can't stand a hard bed! Or harsh pillows! You know how sometimes you could be sleeping on a pillow and a feather end pricks you in the cheek? It's dreadful!

But we discuss all sorts of things, poems, stories, they love to talk about all the people they meet.

I bet they'd have all kinds of stories about people. Flowers can't really move, but people can. You'll have to tell me if the flowers here talk to you, too.

Well, so far, none of them have, they've been asleep, at least the ones I've met. Or already cut, and cut flowers can't speak.

But I most certainly shall, Miss Aerith! And you shall have to let me know when you need something named!
