[At first, there is only audio...]

Hm... I think... like this and—

[The video feed turns on, revealing Aerith in all of her glory, wonderment gaze and more. She looks... bright. Cheery, all things considered.]

There we go!

[Lifting a hand, she wiggles her fingers in greeting.]

Hi there. My name is Aerith and I'd like some opinions onnnnn...

[She turns her camera to show off... her familiar, a Cerulean Drake.]

What I should name them. I'm still getting acquainted with things here, but this seems like a good place to start and a good way to get familiar with some of the other faces here.

I'm not very particular, but maybe something to do with the colour?

[She thumbs at her chin curiously as she looks over to it. No, she still doesn't have any ideas and up until now, she's just been calling it her 'friend.']

[She's cute, he likes her. Somehow managing to avoid many of the obvious jokes, he holds his phone out at arm's length, then reaches into his long coat. Hand dipping into the inner pocket, he withdraws it to reveal a teeny nine-headed hydra.]

[Seven of the heads focus on the phone, and thus Aerith; the last two are busy vigorously butting against each other.]

Behold he, Slayer of Fingers, Wielder of the Short Attention Span, and Emissary of the Ninefold Hiss, Typhon.

He even gets a title?

[As she sneaks a peek back over to her drake, who's come conveniently over finally at this very important discussion regarding names of all things, the mere shifting of the head tells her that it too, wants a title.

Of course it does.]

Well, that's a fancy companion if I've ever met one.

[She wiggles her fingers at the nine-headed hydra in question and after counting them all, she grins.]

It's very nice to meet you, Typhon Times Nine. [Because every head should feel special. Every head is special.]

He earned those titles. [A little correction, as Typhon proves it by swiveling all heads back to let out a hiss that isn't loud, but weirdly harmonic thanks to all those heads.] See? I keep hoping he'll earn "Actually Useful Familiar" someday, but that may be long in coming.

[Aerith is laughing again.]

You're so mean to him. He can understand you, you know. You're going to wake up one day and he's going to destroy your room, or something else of yours and you'll have no one but yourself to blame.

[Yet she appears to be teasing, as indicated by the lightness in her tone.]

Typhon, if you ever get tired of him, you're welcome to stay with me!

[Two of Typhon's heads seem thrilled, stretching out towards the phone. Three register their protest with hisses, and a fourth reaches back to clamp onto Morgan's thumb so they can't get away.]

If I get tired of him, can I stay with you?

[Must be complicated trying to please all nine heads at the same time. Like a bunch of children, really.

Still grinning, she settles her chin in the palm of her hand.]

It doesn't look like to me that you need a place to stay, but if you ask really nicely and it comes down to it, I guess I can make room for you.

[Grinning, Morgan tugs the phone in a bit closer to support the incoming flirtation.] Well, my current room has a serious and severe lack of a beautiful girl in it, and it's obvious your place suffers no such lack at all.

[Aerith, contrary to popular belief, isn't oblivious. If anything, she's probably a little too observant. That said, he makes himself perfectly clear.]

I bet you say that to all the girls!

No, no! Only the beautiful ones. But if not moving in, maybe you'll let me get you a little something at a cafe sometime.

[Strike while the iron is hot.]

[Only the beautiful ones, of course.]

Beauty's in the eye of the beholder, you know! [But she's not about to argue. There are probably more exciting things to debate about anyway. If... she was really a debating kind of individual.] I think I could be convinced. I still don't know my way around very well. It'd be a good idea to get to know the place better.

[She isn't wrong, and a surprising number of girls are beautiful if you just appreciate what's special about them.]

Why, it would be my honor to offer my services in just such a capacity. Can't have you lost and wondering!

Hmmmm! I'm not sure I'd be afraid of being lost or of wandering.

[Come to think of it, if she ever got lost, she doubts anyone would even notice it. But maybe that's simply because Aerith tends to be almost infinitely composed.

Appearances can be deceiving, at times.]

I think it's healthy to have a little adventure in your blood. Wanderlust and discovery should be considered a good thing. Maybe you should get lost more often?

I agree with you, with a caveat!

[Still light and cheerful, Morgan nonetheless loses some of that airy flirtation. She's gotten into philosophy, and despite looking like a long-haired prettyboy, Morgan has a few thoughts about a few thoughts.]

You need a place that's home, somewhere you can return. Whether that's a literal place, or people, or whatever works as home for you. From there you can explore the world, and see everything it has to offer. It's the foundation you build on.

I think I could agree with that.

[Aerith wonders, for a moment or two, what she thinks of when she thinks of home. People, without a doubt. Home might be considered the slums, but maybe that's only because that's where her mother is. Home would very likely follow wherever she went.]

That being said, while we're all here, I think we can have something that's like home. It might not be the same, but it'll be close. There's little stopping us from having a little adventure while we're making a second 'home.'

[Morgan misses his friends and his family, quite badly, in fact. He misses his home, and his Ferrari, too. But if someone asks Morgan where or what home is, he'd say simply, "wherever I say it is." Which goes a really long way towards adapting towards their current circumstances!]

We can all have a home here, if we let ourselves. It doesn't take away from the homes we had at all. If it's different, then it's different, no better or worse. And then we have a place to build wonder and adventure on!

['A' home.
It's an important distinction to make. Aerith has no intentions of turning Camelot into 'home.' But when it comes to the people... Well. Anything can happen, really. It won't ever compare to Elmyra, but she doesn't anticipate anything will.

Either way, she can't argue with him.]

You're right. I hope everyone here can find something that is like home for them. And that they get to have their share of adventures.

And thus I'd be honored to show you around, and make a little part of this town that much more homey for you.

Unless I need to be less subtle about trying to get a date. [Wink!]

I thought I already agreed to something at the cafe?

[Aerith is almost certain she said 'yes,' without actually saying yes.]

That is, I'd appreciate the help. You'll have to let me know when it's good for you.

You said you could be persuaded, so I'm pleased to have persuaded you.

[Always get a 'yes'. Morgan is tall and strong and rich (back home), meaning it can be way, way too easy to apply pressure without even intending to. A disastrous date or three had taught him: always get a 'yes'.]

I've been working on some cleanup after the huge storm, so I'm no fit sight. Tomorrow?

[...Technicalities!]

Tomorrow sounds good to me! I'm in no hurry. Doesn't seem any of us will be going anywhere anytime soon, after all. Make sure you bring Typhon with you, too. We should get him something special.

[And something for her drake, too.]

I've only left him for the whole naked winter run thing. So long as I'm clothed, he's with me! [The only difference is which pocket.] And I'll look forward to hearing your friend's name!

Hopefully I'll have one we both like above the others.

[Joke's on the drake. It is literally getting every single name that's been suggested to her. But she should probably just pick one to call it for short.

Otherwise, it's bound to quickly become a mouthful.]
