[The video feed turns on, revealing Aerith in all of her glory, wonderment gaze and more. She looks... bright. Cheery, all things considered.]

[Lifting a hand, she wiggles her fingers in greeting.]

Hi there. My name is Aerith and I'd like some opinions onnnnn...

[She turns her camera to show off... her familiar, a Cerulean Drake.]

What I should name them. I'm still getting acquainted with things here, but this seems like a good place to start and a good way to get familiar with some of the other faces here.

I'm not very particular, but maybe something to do with the colour?

[She thumbs at her chin curiously as she looks over to it. No, she still doesn't have any ideas and up until now, she's just been calling it her 'friend.']

Well, I do! There's nothing wrong with dark and brooding.

[But that he's smiling inspires her to continue doing the same.

She watches her drake for several moments and she nods.]

I think you're right, though. No matter what we go with, they'll need some time to adjust. [Maybe. She could be underestimating the drake. She's still learning about it. There may be a lot that she simply isn't privy to.]

What's its personality like, anyway? Mine's a pissy asshole, so it wouldn't suit a cute and cheerful name.

[Somehow he can't imagine someone like Aerith getting stuck with a grumpy familiar, but he could be wrong.]

Apathetic, I think!

[But that might be presumptuous of her.] It's hard to say. They don't always listen, but they are helpful when I really need them to be. I think it's unimpressed by me. I might have to prove my worth, first.

Sounds about right. Pretty sure mine still doesn't like me, maybe it never will, but we've been through enough by now that it at least trusts me more than before.

I'm sure yours doesn't hate you.

That's just how relationships work, right? You can't just jump right in expecting to learn everything all at once. I get this feeling our familiars aren't much different from people, so we should take the time to get to know them and to let them get to know us.

It sounds like you're already doing that with yours. If there's hope for you two, then there's hope for me.

Good point. Dunno if I'd go as far as to treat mine like a person when it's a demon, but it's definitely a lot smarter than it looks.

You don't think demons could have feelings like yours? I'm sure demons experience happiness and anger just as we would. I mean, there might not be a real good way to tell. Unless you can ask and actually get an answer. And if you believed whatever you were told.

Pretty sure mine just experiences anger. A lot.
