Saving multiple worlds -- no, multiple universes, do you think that is enough to erase the sins that a person has committed?

Or is this merely what is right for those that are sinners?

I don't think redemption is beyond anyone. However, there will always be consequences for one's actions, as well as punishment if the /sin/ goes into the crime terittory

There is no use weighing in with those thoughts. Simply takes the steps to correct yourself, show the willingness to change, and do good.

No matter what sins one has committed, only a very few are beyond redemption. And those are the kind who refused to correct themselves and continue to commit evil.

I believe I am another kind.
Simply wanting to do good does not change what has happened.
Simply saying that I have changed does not undo what I have done.
I believe it is a cold comfort to the people harmed and lives lost that I'm going to do better now.

I suppose it would depend on the nature of the sin and the reasons for which those sins had been committed.

Though, I suppose anyone who would consider saving multiple universes as just a little bit of good are in likelihood unlikely to ever consider themselves sufficiently redeemed.

I realize saving multiple universes would save billions of people, but still, that does not wipe away the harm that has been done.

all the good you do in the world or across worlds or whatever's only ever going to sit in a pile right next to the bad stuff you've done. so just gotta deal with it.

Redemption is hardly so cheap as to be granted to someone who only thinks of themselves.

No. Nothing can erase sin. The only thing you can do is penance to repay for what you've done, but that sin remains. Nothing can undo the damage you've caused or heal the people you've hurt.

Even if they forgive you, even if the law overlooks you-- it's still burned into you.

I was humoring the idea of redemption, but what you say sounds far more truthful.

The first is someone who's sorry, and worthy of a second chance. The second is someone who's just out to save their own skin. And the Astrals aren't usually fond of the second type.

If I had to say, I would say that it's neither.

I do not believe I could ever right what I have done, and I do not think that I shall seek out a reward for myself. What I intend to do is simply do good. I intend to use my sword to save as many lives, as many worlds, as I can. But I do not believe that will right anything that I have done.
