Okay, there. My name is Zelgadis, and I'm interested in hearing more about alchemy. Specifically, I want to learn more about how it pertains to the creation of chimeras. Nothing I've been able to read so far has been of very much help, and I'm unable to preform alchemy myself, so I was hoping that reaching out like this might yield better results. So... hm. I didn't think this through very well... That's about all I have, I think. If you're able to use alchemy, or know someone who can, please get in touch with me.

Why do you think alchemy has anything to do with the creation of chimeras?

I don't know if it does for sure, these things all work differently here than they did in our own worlds. Out of everything that I've researched though, alchemy is the most likely form of magic here that seems to come close. It's all about changing the form of something into something else, but can it also be used to combine things?

Chimeras are living creatures. I'm fairly certain alchemy, no matter the world, won't let people fuse living creatures together.

I've known magic that can do it, and here, alchemy is a form of magic. I'm not going to rule it out until I've had a chance to confirm it for myself.

I think if you want chimera, you'll want biological experimentation, not alchemy. Maybe blood magic.

From what I've found, this world either isn't advanced enough or what you're looking for is hidden away or forbidden. Any particular reason why you're asking?

This place is much more advanced than where I'm from, and it was possible to create chimeras there. If what I want is hidden away or forbidden, I could work with that. At that point, it's just a matter of finding the right person to beat the information out of.

Mine wasn't this advanced either, but the ones practicing alchemy in secret had a great deal of incentive to do so and the backing of the king.

Do you know how it was done in the first place? Even if this world isn't quite so advanced, there may be value in our comparing how our worlds do it.

Unfortunately, I don't know exactly how it was done, and the only person who knew how to do it is dead. I'd been looking into different methods and trying to figure it out for myself for years before I ended up here. As inconvenient as being stuck here is, at the very least I thought it might open up some new opportunities for me.

Sounds weirder. And more dangerous. Chimeras do not generally appreciate being unmade.

Once the soul departs, a corpse is simply a husk of flesh and bone. The flesh may become leather; the bone, a sturdy material for crockery and other implements.
