Hello there, Your Majesty. I was wondering about this since I got here: what has caused time to be frozen across the multiverse? And is there any way we can do to help out?

To my understanding, Morganna and Merlin. In my death, the sword Excalibur was stolen and thrown into some manner of collider and caused a tear in the fabric of all universes. They froze time to give us a fighting chance, and most magic in Avalon is going toward keeping everything that way and bringing in more of you. The more magic you all generate, the more magic is created, the more time we have to come up with a plan of attack.

Truth be told, I would welcome counsel and ideas once I have a better grasp of these circumstances. In the meantime, by continuing to improve your skills as a mage, you are doing all that I can yet ask.

Can't we just go fetch Excalibur back and fix things that way?

That we do not yet know. [ Arthur isn't going to correct him. He, too, doesn't do science. ] A group making a mockery of knighthood by calling themselves the Knights of the New World seem to be the culprits, but their identities are unknown. It is something I intend to uncover once we deal with the answer to your second question. To fetch Excalibur, we need to leave Avalon. If we leave Avalon, time is stopped. If time continues, the multiverse will be torn asunder. Merlin has told me that unfreezing time around a singular, moving subject is much more complicated than freezing a large but fixed location.

It is a strange notion, but no stranger than there being an infinite number of universes. I look forward to meeting them.

I have been assured that everyone's abilities will be in tact when they return home, and it is possible you may keep your magics from Avalon should you entrench yourselves deeply enough. As for having them returned to you before then, I do not know.

You have no more than I have reason to trust you. I have faith that none of us want our stories to end, and to that end, I am choosing to have faith in each of you. Whether or not you do the same is a choice I cannot make for you.

Is there anything about your rule that you regret? If so, what are they?

[ What a difficult question. Arthur has to take a moment to consider, solemnity in his face. In the end, regrets are something he has, but not something it does any good to dwell on. Something to learn from, to be sure. But... ]

I would have forgiven Lady Guinevere for her indiscretions. It may not seem pertinent to all in regards to my rule, but I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge my emotions had an undue influence on me back then.

How did you choose who would be brought to this world?

The guide we spoke to said that it was to do with the familiars and their bonds but, why take some from our worlds and not others? Is it their capacity for magic, or-

I understand all too well the pain of separation, Caster. For that I am deeply sorry.

[ But it isn't something within his power to pick and choose. She doesn't need to hear that though. She wants answers, not deflection of blame. ]

Perhaps someday, a familiar will find itself able to bond with your Souichirou and bring him here. Should they not, you will return home to him one day. We will save every one of our loved ones. He needs you now to be strong, as his life is in all our hands.

But, um. You said the best way for us to help is to just keep using our magic... what about, uh, people who are making not so great with their magic yet? You know, still figuring it out. [ There's some big Asking For A Friend energy right now. ] What's the best way for us to help?

You will find your feet, Miss Stella. [ Merlin tagged everyone's usernames for him with names. :) ] Magic can be used for a good many things, not just combat. From my understanding, it can be performed in many forms as well. What passions do you have back home?

Some of us came from different worlds where we were already kidnapped by some mysterious force or whatever. You got a connection to those mysterious forces at all? Or is this just some unfortunate circumstance and you're very sorry for the inconvenience and we can expect our yubari king soon?

Your familiar was the one that chose to "kidnap" you. While I do not have a connection to those mysterious forces, you certainly do.

It is an honor your majesty, I am actually from one of the universes from a different Camelot. It hadn't quite adapted to modern technology, but that's from it's own personal choices.

Back in my world I have been brought up as apprentice under it's version of Merlin. I hope to meet yours soon sometime out of curiosity and genuinely wanting to learn more about this world's magic. Incidentally I do have a question on the choice of bringing us in without our original magic. I apologize if this is indeed a bold question to ask, but what is the reason sir?

[ Arthur reaches up to the camera to turn it around before stopping and furrowing his brows at someone off-camera. Then raising them. A slight curl of the lip. There seems to be some kind of silent conversation going on right now with someone just off the camera. Arthur ends up taking a deep breath and takes his hands away from the camera. ]

It sounds as if you may be having a particularly hard time of it. Much here must remind you of home. Perhaps Merlin needs a royal decree to do his own "AMA" at some time in the future instead of simply insisting I am the only one of this court to do one.

[ That may or may not have been pointedly directed at the person off camera, despite being stated to Hisirdoux. But he can, at least, answer the question. ]

It is to my understanding that Avalon's magic is being directed toward maintaining the stilled passage of time to prevent the demise of all worlds. The more magic you all utilize, the more magic is created, and the more time we have in Avalon to come up with a real plan to reverse the fortunes of the universes.

You recommended that our best option for the time being is to practice our magic diligently — and I plan to do just that. But what about yourself? As far as the royal court, what is on your agenda towards the efforts to reestablish the flow of time in the multiverse?

I'm certain you already know, but if it is something that any of us can assist with, you need only ask us.

For the time being, the agenda leans more toward keeping it frozen. Time magic itself is one of the most complicated disciplines and we don't currently have a means for mobile individuals to travel unfrozen through a time-frozen landscape. Our next agenda is as much a brainstorming session as it will be report sharing of what has been tried.

[ Unfortunately, much of bureaucracy is just information sessions, so the agenda is largely making sure everyone is on the same page and taking steps to send that information to those who aren't there. It's a giant game of telephone with the fate of the world and Arthur very much wishes it were something they could progress with diplomacy or battle. But for now, it's hard to say. ]
