It's funny to me how we have pumpkins running rampant and other sort of spooky stuff when this place has never heard of Halloween. Though sure, pumpkins are a part of autumn anyway.
That being said, advice to anyone who might need it: don't go trick or treating unless you want to get arrested by knights. This isn't America, going to knock people's doors asking for candy and threatening them with a prank isn't going to go well.

Though I do have an unpleasant memory on Halloween.

Also known as All Hallows' evening or All Saints' Eve, if that helps to make clear it's not halls of weens.

Ah, it's from my home language, actually! [ Well. Sort of. Don't get into the semantics of which Scots language they actually spoke in Orkney. ]
"E'en" or just "een" comes from our word for "evening", Hallow's Eve is Christian holiday, though it's sort of gotten rolled in with an older holiday we still celebrated in my time, called Samhain!

[ Look, she got the lowdown from the Throne, she knows the historical connections between the holiday of her era and Halloween, but she's not gonna take this laying down! ]

But considering Samhain is a bit different from Halloween, I would see that be celebrated more likely.

Though, I know not of the candy part.. and the presence of pumpkins and other goods gives one pause for thought-- you should do well to observe it.

Lestari has an event called Death Ball. That's the closest you get to All souls day.

[ Thank you, Throne of Heroes, for all the information about the holiday that had evolved from her era. Dressing up in costumes and getting candy sounded fun... a shame, truly. Still... ]
But surely Samhain is still present here?

And I'm sure Rin can think of something much more interesting to do on the day.

Oh? That's a disappointment. Halloween had sounded quite charming, from what I learned from the Throne of Heroes... I'd hoped to put on a lavish celebration in SE.RA.PH when the time was right!
[ and now she won't even be able to experience it here??? tragic. ]

But he leaves the wondering to just s few seconds stare.]
No one's forbidding you from hosting a Halloween party. I'm just advicing against Trick or Treating.

[ Have a thoroughly disgruntled looking little boy, Archer, um. This is an outrage! Alberto has been mis!in!formed!
Like that's never happened...]But we already made costumes! You mean it was just for the haunted art gallery and all that?! That's it?! I thought if we wear our costumes and go sing people songs or something, they'll give us free food, like salami or— turnips, or— I dunno, free food! What happened to that part?!
[ Wh-Where's this kid getting his info...? He was planning to trick-or-treat for salami...? ]
no subject
Why do you think trick or treating gives you salami? It gives you candy and other sort of sweets.
