[When Gundham starts the video, one thing is certain. While his outfit is similar to what he normally wears it's definitely... different. Several vines wrapped around his arms like snakes and his overall demeanor is more... determined.]

I have been here for some time now. Almost a year by my count. During that time I've had time to think. Too much time. But, I've come to a conclusion. Everyone that is brought here seems to have some talent or aptitude that furthers this place's goal, some history that makes them a candidate for being here. My talent is not one that is generally suited to the tasks laid out before us, though my history is.

A friend once told me that the future is not a river flowing immutably in one direction, but more like the ocean. You can try to go anywhere, though it doesn't mean you'll always reach your destination. However, the friends that I've made and comrades I vowed to survive with have had that future taken from them and so, I've made a decision.

I will not cling to hope blindly, nor will I let despair dictate my life anymore. I will take hold of my own future, embrace my path, and become the villain this place needs, for the sake of those left behind.

[That last remark is said with a slightly different cadence. He's choosing his words very carefully as if to get the attention of someone.]

And Mukuro, we need to talk.

[Oh- it had been a while since she'd seen Gundham around, and part of her had started to wonder if he'd vanished. She still...wasn't sure what she thought of him, or how to deal with him, and to that end they'd largely settled for ignoring each other.

The mention of 'hope' and 'despair' was what caught her attention first. Of course it was. But then...]

So you intend to make yourself the villain of this place, hm? Good... well, it has been a while since we spoke. I would hear more of your plans, if you'd humour my company.

So this place doesn't have enough villains already, in your opinion?

[Well the first thing Kadoc does is double-check the Dark Web to make sure he didn't miss a quest going up that involves . . . doing this . . . but it doesn't look like he did, so now he's just going to have to deal with it as a thing that's apparently actually happening.]

[ There's a sort of mocking scornfulness in his young, raspy voice, but his tone does turn more ruminative, more serious — and more respectful, too. Even. ]

There's no accounting for the future, which is like a vast ocean, without considering the role your destiny plays in it — like a ship. You may not end up where you think you were headed... but you can take it into your own hands, like you said. We have no control of the tides, but we can set the course. And I think the universe has enough villains.

[Oh boy. When Hijikata first catches Gundham's broadcast he forcibly holds himself back from calling in purely to chew him out - it'd be no use; an up-and-coming teenage villain would only feel egged on by a pissy cop. But that last bit completely changes his priorities, and he loses no time starting a private call. If Gundham accepts it he'll immediately get a question thrown at him without any kind of preamble.]

What Mukuro are we talking about here?

... There is lies to your truth, and I wonder why you wish to wear the guise of Villainy in this sense of skewed justice you seem to talk about?

[ A pause, she's nosey and interested. ]
