I will agree that the way they've chosen to solve their problems is inefficient at best. Taking our abilities rather than letting us utilize them in order to expedite this process doesn't make much sense to me, but this is our situation. Unless someone finds a way to take our powers back, everyone is stuck with these bodies that are half alive, as you put it.

So, until that happens, it would be wise to learn the new limits of your body and take better care of your health.
