[Robyn has fiddled around with her phone for the past few days, and she's gradually figured out a few ways she can use it. Having done so, she decides to go to the network for advice. It still feels pretty weird to be so open about what she's going to ask.]

to anyone who has animal magic...can you already use it to turn into animals? i can't do it the way i did it back home, so i've tried other ways, but it doesn't work for me yet. does anyone have any advice?

another question. does anyone here know much about wolves? i

i already know a few things about being one, but i still want to learn more about them, if i can.

Oh! I know quite a bit about wolves! And my familiar here is a wolf spirit!

really? so is mine! but she's not always around and she doesn't like to talk much. [At least Merlyn is there for her to talk to, and this time she can actually understand him instead of just having one-sided conversations.]

what do you know about wolves?

I read up on them while in Chaldea, and I learned all sorts of things! Hunting habits of various species, pack dynamics, mating habits, how they care for their young, etc.

i have a friend back home who lives with wolves, and they all live in a pretty big pack. she usually just bosses them all around, though.

there are other kinds of wolves? i didn't know that.

Different species pop up in different regions! There was a pack that lived near our castle back in Orkney, and some that inhabited the forests around Camelot, as well.

I can. It was the first thing I learned how to do. Can't turn into anything too big yet though.

Mostly for me it takes imagining the animal and how it might move. It helps if you're trying to do something the animal is really good at doing like jumping.

i think it's because back home, turning a wolf just sort of...happened to me, when i fell asleep. and i've only done that once so far before coming here.

If that doesn't work, we can see if seeing an example will help? I practice quite often, so there are opportunities.

Speaking of sleep. I do have to warn that you might get stuck in your animal form if you transform when you're too tired. Happened to me once.

i wouldn't want to be stuck in one form. though...they wouldn't shoot or cage a wolf here if they saw one, would they?

You can, there are a couple of people from home I think a lot about. Although, it's still kind of difficult to maintain my form even when thinking about them.

But seriously? That's pretty cool you can turn into an animal back in your world! What kind of world do you come from?

well, i haven't been able to do it for long. i only did it once before I came here.

my world is nice in some places, i suppose. i used to live in england, but my father and i moved to ireland because the lord protector needs hunters there. i don't much like the town we moved to, but the forest outside of it is nice when i can sneak away.

I've no animal magic, but I was given magic similar to what I knew at home. Give it some time and keep trying, you'll get there.

I can understand that, I felt the same way, but I'm sure that it'll come to you in time. I would offer to help, but I've no experience with anything even remotely like shapeshifting..

someone else mentioned that thinking of the animal you're trying to change into can help, or thinking of someone you care about. maybe i'll try that.

So, like, I've got animal magic too and I've got seriously no idea how to turn into animals yet... closest I've got is arguing with some geese. Magic isn't, like, a thing where I'm from so it's taking a little while to adjust.

Seriously glad I'm not the only one struggling, but you said you could do something like that before??

We could practice together or something if you want. Might help?

You have a hunting falcon? That's awesome! They're pretty smart birds, right?

So I guess you used to do it subconsciously and now you're having to do it intentionally. I can see how that'd be tough.

I totally wish I could figure out turning into a wolf though, that sounds seriously badass!

well, merlyn's pretty smart. he's helped my father and i hunt for food lots of times.

being a wolf really is amazing! you can smell and hear so many different things, and you can run and jump so much faster and higher...it's so different from being a human.

[The first time she transformed and Mebh showed her how to be wolf is still pretty vivid to her.]
