[Robyn has fiddled around with her phone for the past few days, and she's gradually figured out a few ways she can use it. Having done so, she decides to go to the network for advice. It still feels pretty weird to be so open about what she's going to ask.]

to anyone who has animal magic...can you already use it to turn into animals? i can't do it the way i did it back home, so i've tried other ways, but it doesn't work for me yet. does anyone have any advice?

another question. does anyone here know much about wolves? i

i already know a few things about being one, but i still want to learn more about them, if i can.

protecting others...there is someone i want to help, but she's not here. maybe I can try thinking of her.

someone else said that, about not staying an animal for too long. back home, i could stay as a wolf until I went back to my human body.

You can, there are a couple of people from home I think a lot about. Although, it's still kind of difficult to maintain my form even when thinking about them.

But seriously? That's pretty cool you can turn into an animal back in your world! What kind of world do you come from?

well, i haven't been able to do it for long. i only did it once before I came here.

my world is nice in some places, i suppose. i used to live in england, but my father and i moved to ireland because the lord protector needs hunters there. i don't much like the town we moved to, but the forest outside of it is nice when i can sneak away.

But it sure sounds like a pretty nice world you lived in. Although, I can't say for sure if there are hunters around. I'm guessing you turn into a wolf to help your lord protector?

i don't do it for the lord protector. he wants all the wolves in the forest outside of town dead. that's why we moved there, because my father's supposed to hunt them all down for him.

[She's not going to mention that her father also tried to shoot her when she first transformed, since he didn't recognize her.]

i wanted to hunt wolves too, at first. but then i made friends with a girl who lives with them, so...now things are pretty different.

Oh, I see. I'm sorry, I didn't know that he would do such a thing.

[Although, he shouldn't have expected anything less. Aren't usually the ones in charge take advantage of the others?]

But I guess it's a good thing that you did though. I hope she wasn't mad when she found out what you were going to do.

it's alright. we talked about a plan to have her and all the wolves leave the forest for somewhere safer. but mebh's mother went missing, and mebh won't leave without her, so i promised her i'd help find her.

i know things back home are frozen, or whatever they said it was, but i still hope i can help.

I'm sure you will and especially when it sounds like you really care about her.

Not everyone would go and help their friend find their mother! But I will admit, I hope you will find her at some point.

[Because Ken didn't want to say out loud but there might be a chance she wasn't around anymore.]

she's the first friend i've made since we moved there, so i suppose i do.

[The other kids in town weren't exactly eager to befriend her due to how controlling the English soldiers could be.]

i've met a lot of nice people so far. but i haven't been here very long, so i can't really say if i'm friends with them yet.

If you need any help here, I wouldn't mind. I'm still learning how thing work around here but I'd like to think I'm getting better?

I thought it would be nice when there are other people willing to help each other out. It's certainly a lot better than what I deal with back home sometimes.

san? what does that mean?

[She's definitely not familiar with honorifics.]

It's a way of saying "Mister" or "Miss" back home? In Japan, it's a way to show respect to someone.

oh. well, just robyn is fine. i don't really need to be called "miss".

is japan where you're from? what's it like?

[Even if it was awkward for Ken to refer to someone without the honorifics.]

But Japan is a place with a lot of cities? The place I live in as a manmade island and there is a subway that allows us to go to the island and back to the mainland.

Not to mention there's a lot of shops and bars to go to.

manmade? how can people make a whole island?

[And she doesn't know what a subway is, either, but that's a different subject.]

I'm not sure but it involves moving a lot of sand, metal, and construction? Or at least, that's what one of my friends says how they're made.

[That and there's a whole lot of other stuff he didn't want to get into either...]I just know it takes months or even years to make one!

but why did they make a whole new island if it takes that long? is there not enough room for people on the other islands?

[She's from a small island country herself, so she can see that happening.]

It's something like that. They wanted to build the island for a high school. They figured the scenery would build morale for the students.

[Which is a complete lie but he wasn't going tell that to someone and scare them off.]

i haven't been to school before, but i've never heard of a whole island being made for a school.

[In Robyn's time, school is generally more for people who can afford it, and her father certainly couldn't. She mainly learned how to read and write at home.]

Wait, you never been to school at all? Then how do you know how to read or even know how buy things if you don't know?

[Because how? How??]

i just learned how to read and write at home. in england we lived too far away from a real school, and my father couldn't afford it anyhow. he still taught me how to add up money and things, though.
