to anyone who has animal magic...can you already use it to turn into animals? i can't do it the way i did it back home, so i've tried other ways, but it doesn't work for me yet. does anyone have any advice?

i just learned how to read and write at home. in england we lived too far away from a real school, and my father couldn't afford it anyhow. he still taught me how to add up money and things, though.

But then again, I must admit, my knowledge of the country is limited. All I know is that England in the past almost ruled the world once.

i like to read books when i can get them. back in england i'd play games outside with my friends all the time. tag, hopscotch, london bridge, leap frog, those kinds of games. and when i wasn't with my friends, i'd help my father hunt for food.

[She misses those days. She had a lot more freedom then, before she and her father had to move.]

Yes they are but would it be wrong to assume you're from the past? It is a little odd to hear someone who has to hunt for food.

Back home, I never had to worry about that as there was plenty to go around.

well, back home, the year is sixteen hundred and fifty. [She's not too sure what Ken means by "the past", but she hopes that can clear things up.]

my father's a hunter, so of course we had to hunt for food. he sold some meat and furs so we can have money, but we kept most of it for us.

We buy them. There's someone else who cooks it for us and we also get them in one big place called a supermarket too.

And sometimes you can even order what you want through a machine!

how can a machine give you food, though?

It's where they cook the food inside of the machine. For example, if you want a steak, they already have a piece of meat already for you.

All they just have to do is cook it?

[Granted, he has yet to see a machine that would cook a steak but it gets the point across right??]

but how does the steak cook in there? is it like an oven?

[She knows what those are, at least. She's helped with baking bread in the scullery, which would have been fun if she hadn't been forced to do other boring chores there.]

If they can make fried potatoes in vending machines, anything is possible! We even have one for umbrellas too.
