Hello!

I know that a lot of us showed up recently and everything and I was curious what type of magic or what-not that everyone has? We didn't have magic where I'm from, there were Hamon practitioners but that's... it's a pretty specialized thing and I can say I only knew five people who were able to use it. And there were... other things, but it doesn't matter since they're gone and not coming back anyway!

Oh! Evidently mine is healing??? Or that's what my new friend seems to indicate! It's nice to have a companion immediately, isn't it? Especially if they're pretty special themselves! Or I think so.

I was wondering if anyone was interested in seeing if some place around here would let us use their kitchen for cooking practice? I'd love to learn about different cuisines here as I'm only really familiar with a type of Italian and might as well broaden my horizons here, right?

[There are several things wrong with the metaphorical picture hidden in this very real 'text' message appearing over the network.

Number one - Joestar.

Number three - Suzi Q. Joestar.

He doubletakes at the message, shoves the phone into his pocket, and pulls it back out as if making it disappear from his line of sight will refresh the screen to show a different reality.

But there's that excitable ramble he can hear even as he reads the words again and again-a voice that sounds distinctly like Suzi. There's hamon, some users, 'other things', Italian, cooking-it's all her.

It's really her.

And it's like a flood is encroaching on him, suddenly. There's a choice to be made here and none of those options involve ignoring this message. None of them involve trying to avoid the confrontation he knows is close to happening-one he hopes they can dance around, but-

She's always been too good to him-every kind word she spared him in his youth and beyond. Every night they spent they futzing around the island, talking about friends and family and dreams. Every random afternoon they small talked about the mundane-dates and dinner and new wines that showed up on the mainland. All those years spent on the cusp of danger and training for an impending battle that could end with all of them dead.

And he can't believe the turn of luck and fortune that led them down this same odd road.

He isn't sure what to do from here-delicacy has never been his modus operandi and he'd prefer to somehow brute force this problem away, but-

[The string of texts he writes comes like rapid fire-as if Suzi's grasp on this world depends on how quickly he can type out a few messages. Which is a problem because his hands feel like they aren't attached to his body and he doesn't get how some of the people here can use their thumbs to quickly type across the screen and-

Moreso when he ends up deleting every Are you okay? and What's your familiar? and Are you OK and JOJO? REALLY? which somehow ended up in all caps.

He was fine with that one, honestly.

Switching to voice is easier on his fingers, but it may end up being his downfall. It's hard to keep his voice steady and he pretends like this is another exercise, another training regime.

It's just Suzi. An old friend and he's spoken to her a thousand times before. If he pretends like it's no different, then it won't be. If he acts like he didn't meet his end in some random hotel, they don't need to acknowledge it.

This is hardest his two functioning braincells have ever worked and instead of thinking about it anymore, he opts for a-]

This place was giving surprises she didn't know if she could really handle. But it's... nice to hear a familiar voice, even more so when it's his given everything that's happened. But does he know what happened?

She doesn't really know all the semantics around if someone would remember dying or if there's just going towards the light or what? Maybe best to. Work around it.

I find it fascinating how many people here seem so comfortable with freely advertising the "magic" they've been allegedly granted upon their arrival here.

Setting aside for the sake of argument the potential that this entire experience is some sort of elaborate ruse, why is that something you would want others to openly know about you?

Because if my magic can help someone, why would I not want to let them know? If someone's hurt and they need help and I can help, why wouldn't I? Just because someone might have gotten hurt for the worst intentions or reasons, it doesn't mean you should just leave them there to bleed, right?

I'm tired of having to sit on the sidelines and let everyone else take care of everything, I want to be able to help if I can!

I don't see the point in brazenly announcing your intentions, as opposed to simply acting on them.

It can't just be all doom and gloom and training, can it? And there is a saying about how an army marches on its stomach, so if you don't or can't fight, then helping feed them properly is just as good!

So far I've changed into a few different ones. Small ones. I can't seem to be able to turn into a horse yet, for example. I guess I might learn bigger ones later on?

She pauses for the longest moment on that last part, not... entirely sure who this person is. Caesar is a given, but this one she knows she's never heard the voice of before. And a bundle of joy? They hadn't even been married for longer than two weeks, max. How... odd.]

My name's Takao, I got kinetic magic but I can't move much of anything but leaves. We had minor abilities in the last world I was in but not where I'm actually from.

Kagami is the best cook I know, he taught me some before we ended up here, I could show you, I mostly know Japanese cuisine, I'm still best at red-bean soup.
