( In Asriel's opinion, it's always better to make a text post when he's upset about something. He doesn't want to worry anyone, especially when he's well aware that he's someone who's rather sensitive. He just has a brief question to ask as it is. )

( It's hard not to miss friends that he's not sure he'll see again. He's lost people important to him before -- but at the least, those he know who have left are going home. Not only that, but they're going to back to a home where they still have friends and family waiting for them.

He just wishes he had a chance to at least say good bye. )

yes. unless they are spirited away elsewhere instead. there are many other worlds like this one. they may even disappear and return here shortly after with all their memories of this place in tact, but for them years have passed, whether at home or in other worlds. or they may return with no recollection of having been spirited away before. theres really no telling.

some people live happier lives in these worlds than they do at home, though. and as I understand it, no one remembers being anywhere else once they return home. so it’s no great relief or anything for them to return if they never knew they were gone. i dont take so much comfort in that idea.

I mean, everything is still frozen in time. Like, *all* the planes are frozen together. Going back just means going back to being frozen.

But! I mean, they're *going* to have their home saved, right? By us. Or by them, if they come back. So it's all basically the same thing. If they do come back, they probably won't even notice that they were gone.

Some might argue it would make things worse. True, you could theoretically say your goodbyes, but would it change how you feel about the outcome?

For most of them, anyway. For some of us, returning home is a death sentence.
