( In Asriel's opinion, it's always better to make a text post when he's upset about something. He doesn't want to worry anyone, especially when he's well aware that he's someone who's rather sensitive. He just has a brief question to ask as it is. )

... We never really know when people leave when they do, huh?

Do you think that the people who leave ever come back...?

( It's hard not to miss friends that he's not sure he'll see again. He's lost people important to him before -- but at the least, those he know who have left are going home. Not only that, but they're going to back to a home where they still have friends and family waiting for them.

He just wishes he had a chance to at least say good bye. )

[Look, Chara wouldn't be considered the most affectionate person after all so enjoy the fact they even picked up on that Asriel is off and gave him a hug.]

( Asriel can't help but hug Chara back then, claws gently clinging to their sweater. If Chara listens closely enough, they'll hear a sniffle. )

( Chara is someone who would be able to tell that he's sad even if Asriel tries his hardest to seem like he isn't. There's no one else who knows him better, after all. )

I-It's just... I was able to say good bye to you -- and Frisk, too. But here... You don't get to say good bye to your friends before they leave.

But, uhm... it wasn't just him. My magic teacher left, too.

Oh. [Chara isn't too... Bothered by the new of Vent being gone, they weren't 100% on how they felt about the bard after all and now they'll never get to.

At the mention of a magic teacher Chara makes a face.]

It is, but... she really wanted to help me learn how to control it better.

( And, being around her in general was... nice. She always did everything she could to try to help him out. )

[Chara does sound disappointed in that, but not for any normal reasons.]

[Honestly Chara is just curious as to who this person is.]

( He knows there's a bigger chance of not seeing her again than her returning. )

Cecelia Ardenbury -- but, uhm... She asked me to call her Mrs Ardenbury.

[Chara goes "hmm" at the name, they've never heard it before.]

Interesting, never met her or heard of her. Too bad she's gone then.

But, this world -- it brings people together. We did end up getting to see each other again.

[Hrm, this is going south pretty quickly...]

I'm used to it, after being dead and all that. So don't worry about me.

... I was alone for a long time, too.

( It was by choice, though. Chara didn't have that choice. )

Just because you're used to it -- that doesn't mean that it's easy.

[They stop themselves from saying that they know about Asriel being alone, and that it was different from their own, because they still want to keep what they know from being with (and being) Frisk to themself.]

Never said it was easy, anyway. This is depressing, why don't you tell me more about your friends who left? Think about the good times you had and not dwell on the leaving part.

( There's a pause then. It's like it's been between them since Asriel first got here. It's almost as if Chara is sidestepping any issues at hand. )

... I don't like it when you run away from things, Chara.

[Sidestepping indeed, it makes everything easier to not discuss such things. At least that's what they think.]

I'm not? I'm still here, so there's no running away going on at all. Just you're sad and that's the more important thing right now.
