[Okay, that's enough adjusting for the time being. Time is money, and Azul needs money.
And to start building a network.]
What jobs might be available for a young man with experience in the restaurant business? I don't mean waiting tables, I mean running the business. Or, even better, what sorts of restaurants and eateries is this place lacking?
[Could he have just wandered around and figured this out on his own? Sure, but this way he knows what people actually want and not just want's missing.]

[He's totally serious. There are so many food options that they don't have here, it's a crime!]
Avalon's lacking in curry places. We need a place that serves different types of ramen. There are no trendy burger places with crazy milkshakes either! We need some barbecue places! Bubble tea! Pancakes! Sukiyaki or hot pot! Yakitori! Sushi!
[ Crow pauses, just to make sure this guy can keep up with his requests.]
I've got more, but can you really bring some of these type of establishments here?

I'll admit I know more about fine dining establishments than street food or burgers, but the same concept applies to all restaurants no matter the price point.
[Quality food, quality service, and hiring people who know what the hell they're doing in the event you don't.
And also making very one-sided deals with distributors to get your ingredients at insane prices but that last one may just be him.]
...Is there seriously no place that serves breakfast food or bubble tea, though? Those are stables.

[Fine dining, huh? Crow has no idea what that's like. He normally goes for street food or food within his
Rom'sprice range. Though, Crow's sure this guy can make any of his suggestions gourmet.]We do have coffee places and smoothies have been getting big lately, but I haven't come across a bubble tea place yet. And I know someone who opened up a diner, but the pancakes I'm looking for are soufflé style.
[Another thing that's trending back in his world, it probably hasn't caught on in Avalon yet.]
So what exactly is fine dining? All I can think of is tiny portions and presentation.
no subject
[But those are always good, so he's going to be looking into that.]
That's part of it, yes, but there's more to it. Atmosphere, the quality of the dishes, the quality of the furniture and decor--it's more than just the small portions and eccentric presentation. The portions are usually so small because the ingredients are so much more expensive or the preparation is so much more intensive.

[Crow understands, but he feels like most people can't enjoy meals like that on the regular basis. Unless it's a special occasion, this place will only cater to a certain class. Exclusion leaves a bad taste in his mouth, but he gives this guy the benefit of the doubt, maybe that's not what he's trying to do.]
It still sounds like a really expensive snack to me! Do you think a place like that will be successful here? Most people don't make that kind of money. Maybe King Arthur and his round table can eat there, but that leaves out a lot of potential customers.

[And that's a promise! Crow's a big foodie!]
So what leads do you have so far? I hope you're bringing something interesting. People of Avalon seem to like trends just as much as my world does. Recently, they're really into eggs for some reason. Man, I could really go for some Omurice right now!

I've heard sushi from two different people at this point, so I may be considering that more seriously. It wouldn't take long to see if the fish here are comparable to the fish back home, at least.
no subject
Well, if it's sushi, you can't go wrong with that! I haven't really tasted the fish myself, but if you have someone with really good knife skills, I'm sure it could be great! And you need a catchy name, too!
no subject
[But it could be fun and different, so...]

[ Crow sounds slightly dejected that it's not set in stone yet, but he's hoping it comes to fruition.]
Well, even if you don't have someone skilled, but someone who's willing to learn, I'm sure you could get plenty of resources from the internet. The internet doesn't seem to be frozen in time.

I only just got here. I just like to have a goal to work towards after "getting settled", that's all.

[He's been here for a couple of months, but he remembers how disconcerting being brought from another world can be. Having a goal helps to keep you grounded, so Crow understands where this guy is coming from.]
The name's Crow! If you need any help adjusting, or you've got some free time on your hands, you should stop by and hear me play at the Phoenix Roost!
[He's going to shamelessly plug in his performances, of course.]
no subject
[God, just how earnest is this guy?]
no subject
Wow that name is a mouthful, isn't it?]
Nice to meet you, Azul! And yes, I do perform! I'm a big deal rockstar back home, and now I'm blessing Avalon with my amazing crimson voice!
[He's not quite that big of a deal, but he does have talent!]
no subject
Impressive. Is this Roost a rock club or...?

[And Azul still hasn't got the hang of making it, since that's not a drink they really have under the sea.]
no subject
[Azul never asked, but Crow is just putting it out there.]
They have alcoholic drinks towards evening, too. If that's more your speed.
no subject
Won't the bar try to ID me?

[Maybe he even looks mature too! Unlike himself, who looks like he still attends High School.]

[Crow's a little curious, even if it might be rude to ask outright.]

By the date? So you're not that much younger than me. I'm sure they would let it slide.
[Not that Crow is encouraging underage drinking, but they don't seem too strict.]
