If I may pose a hypothetical question.

For a being that has existed many a millenia, what would be information most pertinent to their enjoyment of a... modernized life?

[ Yeah this absolutely has nothing to do with him. He's not 6,000 years old and still doesn't understand how to use the microwave in his inn room, nope. ]

I have no idea why you even bothered posing this as hypothetical in the first place . . . but it doesn't really matter.

[It's just striking, and honestly, a little funny. But it doesn't matter! It's not like it changes the answers.]

I guess I'd say this. When it comes to enjoyment, whatever you enjoyed before probably still exists in some form in the modern era. It might have improved drastically, or it might not have. That's pretty subjective. But either way, if you're the type who was a nerd about anything in particular millennia ago, you can probably trace that all the way to today and get a kick out of it.

Nothing? That's a strong statement. . . . You must be older than I expected.

[He'd been assuming two, three thousand years, but maybe many a millennia goes deeper than he realized. That's a lot to think about. And of course they probably don't come from the same world anyway, right? Thinking of it in terms of historical reference is useless . . . ]

Not to pry too much, but I'm curious. Have you been alive continuously all this time? Or is this an awakening, or summoning?

I can't believe I led off with explaining indoor plumbing to a being like that.

[Though for once in his life, his self-consciousness about it is at a minimum. It's too amusing to be deeply embarrassed about, and this godly being he's audio chatting with here hasn't talked down to him or laughed at him yet. That helps.]

Maybe next you'll learn having higher standards for riveting conversational topics.

[But despite himself, he's smiling too; he's just like this, unable to resist the opportunity to take a jab at himself.]

How were you living before? I guess that explains how you've been alive all this time but you're only just now asking. I'd wondered.

Yeah, I get it. There are spirits like that along those lines where I come from. Just because they don't need sleep and food doesn't mean they can't partake in it.

[Heroic Spirits are lucky enough to get some downloaded-in knowledge about the modern world with their summoning, though, so to speak. No needing to explain showers to them. So whatever this guy is, he's not that . . . his "status" sure makes him sound like he was something higher level, though. Someone important.]

But tea's one of those ancient things that never seems to go away in any era. People got it right the first time for once, I guess.
