[The camera is steady, though it's filming at an odd angle, as though it's been propped up against something that's not really meant for the job. Which is fine, it does what it needs to, which is to show a young woman seated at what is - given the background - is probably a desk in one of the hotel rooms used to house offworlders.]

There's something I've been wondering about.

Has anyone run into someone you're sure is from your world, but who you don't have any personal connection to? Either directly or through someone else?

No - everyone who's here from my world knows each another. I'm mostly thankful for it, but it does seem strange. That's why I was curious if anyone had found someone they didn't know.

[madcuriosity]

I don't know anyone until we're introduced. [Which... is very daunting for a seven-year-old but she does alright. She has Nero and Ken and many others.] Who is from your world, miss?

I don't know if you would have met any of them, but Sokka, Katara, and Zuko are from my world, and I've been told Toph is here, too.

[And Azula, or so she's heard.

There is no way she's going to say anything that might possibly suggest that Azula is someone to approach for any reason.]

And I'm Suki.

Oh! I know Mr. Sokka and Miss Katara! They're both very nice, Mr. Sokka even played a pun game with me!

It's very nice to meet you, Miss Suki! My name is Alice Liddell.

It's nice to meet you too, Alice. And it's just Suki - I'm not that old.

[She smiles, just a little bit teasing, to take any sting out of the correction.]

Have you made a lot of friends here?

[madcuriosity]

Oh ah... [She presses her lips together.]

I... don't think so. Most everyone here is an adult or teenager. [And how often do either want to be friends with children?] Everyone is very kind though, even if we aren't friends. [She'd LIKE to be, but she accepts that it would be terribly rude of her to assume.]

[warfan]

Give them time. Dangerous situations breed strange friendships. It's one of the few good things that come out of them.

[madcuriosity]

I... don't really understand. What do you mean? [Alice has been in plenty of dangerous situations, she never made any friends out of it.]

[warfan]

I mean that...having to work together to survive something strange can forge a strong bond between people, even if they wouldn't have been friends if they just met in the village square.

[madcuriosity]

Won't... you stop being friends once the danger is all gone?

[warfan]

No - you're still connected by the experience, even after it's over.

[madcuriosity]

I see... I am glad everyone comes out of it alright, at least. [But she also doesn't want to put other people in danger just to become their friends.]

Maybe I'll befriend someone that way.
