Fourth: Myths and Legends, backdated to Valentine's Evening (Video; un: Caster)

[There were advantages and disadvantages to using the money she'd gotten from carrying out Morgana's suspicious request in order to find a larger place to stay. On one hand, she had more space to keep her things and it didn't feel so cramped - she might even have room for a potion-brewing workshop at some point. On the other hand, yes, she had more space to herself, but it was Valentine's Day.

And she was here by herself, without the one person she wanted to spend it with.

After spending a week or so chasing around a man from her world who was responsible for her demise.

Desperate for something to take her mind off all of it, she took to the network to try and find a distraction.

Caster can be seen sitting in a darkened room, face and body mostly hidden by the shadows of her cloak. You know, because that totally didn't look ominous.]

For those who haven't met me yet- I am known as Caster. A pleasure.

As the people who've been brought here are from many different worlds, I can't help but be a little curious. Tell me, what myths and legends are the most well known, where you're from? What about those you personally find the most interesting?

I'd say that the Greek Myths are my personal area of interest, but... picking a favourite would be difficult.

[A hint to who she was, perhaps, but it wasn't as if she'd actually told many people she was a heroic spirit from myth - so it should be a safe comment.]

Either way, feel free to share. I'm curious to know who's myths overlap with the ones I know, as well as learn a little about other people's worlds.

[There was a short pause, before a dark smirk comes into her face. She may have been just a little bitter about the whole cupid arrow nonsense.]

what do you know of the gods from your world?

In real life? I know they weren't monsters like in the legends. On the outside, they all looked like ordinary people with homes and families. It was their hearts and the strength of their magic that made them different.
But they grew so powerful, they decided the world didn't need human bodies at all, only souls. A declaration of war on everyone who didn't think humanity needed to evolve that way. With magic strong enough to take each other's souls by force, the gods couldn't reason with each other any more - so they just fought and killed each other over it instead, until nobody was left.
In the modern age, we barely remember anything about them, but we still live with some of the consequences. It's weird to think about.

gods are often bitter and petty and will target one another all the same

but it sounds as if that is the distant past to you

It happened a thousand years ago. It's the distant past for everyone.
I guess the ideas behind it aren't as distant from us as their magic was. But that's the most you can say.

do you mean that your people still have access to magic from the age of gods in your world then?

[scension]

Yes, but it's rare. In the age of the gods, it was everywhere. It made visiting that era really weird and dream-like, no matter what we were doing there.

[Okay, no, everything else could wait. This was something she needed to know right now.]

[Weird response, he thinks. Still, no reason not to explain. Getting nostalgic about his time travel shenanigans is a happier feeling than dwelling on the fact that he isn't still back there.]

I have a friend who grew up in that age. His powers made it possible to walk through his memories.
Honestly, beyond that, I don't understand the details. Replicating it here is out, though. This world doesn't sit well with him, as far as we can tell.

It's like visiting other islands. It's fun as long as you have somewhere or someone to go home to afterwards.

that is always the way though i suppose

travelling whilst knowing you can never return is painful

but knowing you have a home to go back to when your voyage is over might make it enjoyable

Home isn't always the same place your whole life, either.
