(The video feed begins with Harry adjusting his smartphone to get a clear angle at his studio apartment in Camelot: he still has his eyeglasses on and is wearing a huge beanie cap for some reason. Hedwig is currently feasting on her latest catch of the day on a counter in the kitchen; meanwhile Rose tries to poke her head into the video feed to see what is going on while squeaking at the camera.)Oh, hey Rose. I’m sorry, but you need to scoot out of the camera for the moment. I got something to tell everyone.
(Picking her up, Harry gently puts her aside on the table for the moment. He then takes a deep breath to compose his thoughts: he had been thinking about this decision for a quite while now and he had taken a big leap to get there too. Not sure if everyone will handle the news well, he soon looks at the camera directly in the eye.)Hey everyone. I know that I have been unusually quiet lately, but there is a good reason why. I was getting a little fed up with how I look for the last several months, but I was too scared to try to change parts of myself, wondering if those changes can be carried over to my world once time outside Avalon has been restored and if any of my friends back home will still recognise me. But after talking with my co-workers and the manager of the café I work at who all suggested to me to push through with it, I finally did it. Now I guess that I should reveal to you what the fuss is about.
(The young man then closes his eyes, looks away from the camera, takes off his glasses one last time, and removes the beanie cap from his head to quickly fix up his hair and bangs before opening his eyes and looking back at the camera again. What started out as a bespectacled teen with messy dark brown hair has been replaced by a different creature: Harry’s bright blue eyes are no longer hidden behind glasses (and can actually see better) and his hair is now cut short with his bangs now pushed onto the left side of his face with small visible sideburns on each side of the face. And yes, there is stubble on his upper lip, jaw, and neck, but that’s because he has shaven a few days ago.)Yes, your eyes aren’t fooling around: I actually got myself a full on makeover: finally gotten around to get a hair cut and having my eyes’ vision corrected during the weekend. But even though my looks have been changed, deep down, I’m still the same person after all: just the same old Harry who’s been in this world for nearly a year now. It just so happens that I got some new changes that have been overdue to boost up my confidence.
So what do you guys think? Do you like my new look or do you still prefer the old me? That’s understandable if you feel that way, and I’m still adjusting to it as well: the eye doctor who did the surgery told me that my vision will be stabalised within a week, so I do apologise in advance for any inconveniences if I might bump into people and things by accident for the time being.
