[The video opens to 'Junko' lazing around on her bed, the smartphone held loosely in one hand - she spends a couple of moments frowning as she fiddled with the settings, giving herself a couple of overly obnoxious filters before deciding that's probably a little too much. Finally she settles to something a little more natural, and waves to the camera.]

Hey Avalon! I've been here a couple of weeks but figured I hadn't really introduced myself to most people here so, hi! I'm Junko Enoshima! Charmed, I'm sure.

[Just giving a bright grin and a peace sign to the camera, before her expression turns more serious.]

So, like, anyone else kinda feel like they don't really... know what they’re supposed to be doing here?

Yeah, yeah, I know we're supposed to be learning magic and saving the world and all that junk but I just feel totally lost, you know? And it's not just 'cause magic's seriously weird - anyone else never really have magic where they were from or is it just me? Like, people could get super talented, but not literal magic and spells and potions and junk.

Anyway, what I mean is... back home I had, like a dream I was chasing. I was a super popular model, and I was chasing after that the whole time. Now I'm away from all that, I dunno what I'm supposed do, and it’s seriously stressing me out.

[She grew quiet a moment, before shaking her head to snap herself out of it, plastering that fake grin back on her face.]

Sorry! Didn't mean to get all serious there! So, what's everyone been doing for fun since they got here? You think they've got somewhere to do some karaoke or something? It's been ages!

You know, just because it's a different world doesn't mean you have to totally give up on your dream. I mean, truthfully? I have no intention of going back to my world, so I'm just starting fresh here.

What was your dream?

Huh? You never wanna go back? How come?

[She hesitated a bit at his question. Could she really chase her dreams down here? It wasn't that simple...]

Well, like... being a super successful model, mostly! It's harder work than you think it is, you know?

Because there's not really anything for me back on my old world. My old man, sure, but not much else.

I don't doubt that but like...maybe you can revolutionize the fashion industry here? Admittedly, I don't really know anything about fashion. I'm a blacksmith.

I guess that makes sense...

Oh- you're a blacksmith? That's so cool! What kinda stuff do you make??

[She'd get back to the fashion point in a moment once she realises she's getting distracted.]

[He laughs.]

What can't I make? As a Master Blacksmith, I'm pretty sure I can make anything you'd request. Weapons, armor, shields, cookware, tools, the works!

Anything, huh?

I mean I'm gonna assume you can't like make firearms and stuff, but combat and survival knives are good right?

[Your inner combat nerd is showing again.]

I've forged cannons and stuff before but personal firearms are a little harder. If I had one I could disassemble, I could learn to make one though.

As far as knives though? I can forge those in my sleep. All kinds!

No way...you've made an actual cannon?? That is seriously cool!

[Can he sense the starry eyes from the other end of the call?]

I've always wanted to try out an actual canon but I never got a chance to, just a rocket launcher-

I- I mean I had to borrow one for a photoshoot! Some military magazine thought they'd sell more copies if they had a cute girl on the front posing with the firearms, you know? Haha...

[ Here's a familiar face. Pyrrha considers Junko to be a friend at this point so she doesn't mind hopping in to give her two cents. ]

You being a fashion model doesn't surprise me. I think you have a nice sense of style.

[ But that's besides the point. Pyrrha frowns a little, pensive. ] I understand what you mean, though, by feeling lost. I had a lot going on back where I was from, and now that I can't do those things anymore...well, I'm also trying to figure out what to do with myself.

Hopefully us talking it over together will help?

[She made a friend! That makes her happy.]

You too, huh? It's really hard isn't it, like, going from knowing what you're supposed to do and having your head really in the zone- and then nothing at all.

That sounds good to me!

It is. I know exactly what you mean. So why don't we try to figure out what you can do while you're here?

[ Being a fashion model and then suddenly switching gears to becoming a mage sounds like a rough time. ]

There must be some sort of boutique or clothing store looking for someone to model their clothes. I can't imagine why they wouldn't want that.

That'd be amazing if you don't mind brainstorming! Hey, maybe I can give you some ideas too!

[It sounded like she was in the same boat, to some extent.]

You'd think, wouldn't you? Like... they've gotta need some sort of advertising at least, right?

Oh, yes! Maybe after we've talked about modeling, though, because I already feel like we can ask around and see if anyone would like a fashion model for their store.

[ Listen, she's pumped for this okay!! She wants Junko to do well here, and if being a fashion model will help then she's all for it. ]

That sounds good! Seriously, I wanna get back into the swing of things already. Having no routine is slowly driving me crazy.

[The enthusiasm is definitely infectious!]

I'm sure you'll work something out. You definitely have the vibe of a fashionista, so I don't see why anyone would turn you down.

[She had the vibe down?? She looked- honestly far too happy to be told that. It meant she was doing a good job!]

[ Cue a slightly disheveled man chiming in with his inimitable, hard-won wisdom. No one that this kid would know, to be sure, but Dante has his moments of wanting to interact with the world outside of the usual verbs like killing monsters and annoying his nephew. Everyone has to have their little moments.

Some reasons are just more suspect than others. ]

Model? You been in anything I might know about?

[ Anyways... ]

Yeah, I guess it’s all well and good to learn things and shoot fireballs out our butts for justice or whatever, but it isn’t like we’re gonna see what it’s all for in the end.

Guess what I’m trying to say is this isn’t my fight, but I’m stuck with it. It’s not a real motivating cause.

Well, you know, been on the cover of loads of Japanese Magazines, even some more global ones too! I was known as the Ultimate Fashionista for a reason, you know?

[The comment about shooting fireballs out their butts made her laugh - at least it lightened the mood a bit.]

Seems kinda off though doesn't it? I mean sure I guess you could say we're like, magical mercenaries or whatever, but... kinda feels like we've been thrown in the deep end with really vague orders, don't you think?

[When Gundham starts the video there's a look of barely contained rage on his face.]

I know not what you seek to accomplish by continuing this masquerade, but know that my eyes are on you. Should you do anything to jeopardize this place, I will not hesitate to end you.

[Mukuro's eyes grew wide as Gundham suddenly appeared on the screen.

So there was someone from her world here, after all...]

What the Hell are you implying?

[She kept up the Fashionista tone for now. He used the word 'masquerade', but...that wasn't enough on its own to prove he knew who she really was.]

I do not imply anything. I am simply telling you how it is, Ikusaba.

You and your sister visited tragedy on our world, and I will not be your tool to do the same to this one.

[As he used her real name, it was as if someone had dumped cold water on her, and Mukuro sat in a stunned silence for a couple of moments as she took in his words.

And then, the act just seemed to melt away, her expression that of the serious, dour girl who held the title Ultimate Soldier.]

...If it comes to a fight, I can kill you, you know that.

Even Junko didn't plan for me getting transported to another world at the moment of my death. So...I'm on standby, for the time being.

[At the very least, what she'd said in her message about being completely lost for what to do now wasn't a part of her act at all.]

[Gundham holds up his bandaged hand as it burst into dark purple flames.]

You may have held the edge in our world but here our abilities are far more on par than you might think.

[The mention of her death makes it clear in Gundham's head what she would likely know about their world, giving him the advantage in information at the very least.]

Know that Junko's machinations failed at every turn, and they will fail here as well.

Magic will give you an initial advantage and an element of surprise. Even with that unknown taken into account, I can adapt my strategy accordingly.

[There was some irony in that Gundham - the Ultimate Breeder - had been given access to Dark Magic, whilst the elder Despair Sister had been granted animal magic. He had a point though, if he had been honing his magic, that would give him a distinct edge. Mukuro had not had much experience fighting magical combatants yet.]

...I may have been a disappointment to her right until the end, but Junko won't fail.

[Gundham was going to talk up his own abilities - no doubt giving away much of what he had accomplished - before that last line. She truly didn't know. For a moment the emotion drained from Gundham's face before being replaced by something rarely seen from the usually kindhearted breeder: a smirk of genuine sadism. If he could inflict upon her a tenth of the suffering she had visited upon him and his friends...]

You truly don't know? Junko is dead. Killed at the end of her own game, brought down by the Ultimate Hope himself, and those of my class? The "Remnants of Despair" led by Izuru Kamakura? We have been freed from what hold she held over us and Kamakura is no more, only Hajime Hinata remains.

She failed. Hope has triumphed in the end.
