[The video opens to 'Junko' lazing around on her bed, the smartphone held loosely in one hand - she spends a couple of moments frowning as she fiddled with the settings, giving herself a couple of overly obnoxious filters before deciding that's probably a little too much. Finally she settles to something a little more natural, and waves to the camera.]

Hey Avalon! I've been here a couple of weeks but figured I hadn't really introduced myself to most people here so, hi! I'm Junko Enoshima! Charmed, I'm sure.

[Just giving a bright grin and a peace sign to the camera, before her expression turns more serious.]

So, like, anyone else kinda feel like they don't really... know what they’re supposed to be doing here?

Yeah, yeah, I know we're supposed to be learning magic and saving the world and all that junk but I just feel totally lost, you know? And it's not just 'cause magic's seriously weird - anyone else never really have magic where they were from or is it just me? Like, people could get super talented, but not literal magic and spells and potions and junk.

Anyway, what I mean is... back home I had, like a dream I was chasing. I was a super popular model, and I was chasing after that the whole time. Now I'm away from all that, I dunno what I'm supposed do, and it’s seriously stressing me out.

[She grew quiet a moment, before shaking her head to snap herself out of it, plastering that fake grin back on her face.]

Sorry! Didn't mean to get all serious there! So, what's everyone been doing for fun since they got here? You think they've got somewhere to do some karaoke or something? It's been ages!

You know, just because it's a different world doesn't mean you have to totally give up on your dream. I mean, truthfully? I have no intention of going back to my world, so I'm just starting fresh here.

Huh? You never wanna go back? How come?

[She hesitated a bit at his question. Could she really chase her dreams down here? It wasn't that simple...]

Well, like... being a super successful model, mostly! It's harder work than you think it is, you know?

Because there's not really anything for me back on my old world. My old man, sure, but not much else.

I don't doubt that but like...maybe you can revolutionize the fashion industry here? Admittedly, I don't really know anything about fashion. I'm a blacksmith.

[ Here's a familiar face. Pyrrha considers Junko to be a friend at this point so she doesn't mind hopping in to give her two cents. ]

You being a fashion model doesn't surprise me. I think you have a nice sense of style.

[ But that's besides the point. Pyrrha frowns a little, pensive. ] I understand what you mean, though, by feeling lost. I had a lot going on back where I was from, and now that I can't do those things anymore...well, I'm also trying to figure out what to do with myself.

Hopefully us talking it over together will help?

Oh- you're a blacksmith? That's so cool! What kinda stuff do you make??

[She'd get back to the fashion point in a moment once she realises she's getting distracted.]

Pyrrha, hey! It's good to see you again.

[She made a friend! That makes her happy.]

You too, huh? It's really hard isn't it, like, going from knowing what you're supposed to do and having your head really in the zone- and then nothing at all.

That sounds good to me!

What can't I make? As a Master Blacksmith, I'm pretty sure I can make anything you'd request. Weapons, armor, shields, cookware, tools, the works!

I mean I'm gonna assume you can't like make firearms and stuff, but combat and survival knives are good right?

[Your inner combat nerd is showing again.]

I've forged cannons and stuff before but personal firearms are a little harder. If I had one I could disassemble, I could learn to make one though.

As far as knives though? I can forge those in my sleep. All kinds!

No way...you've made an actual cannon?? That is seriously cool!

[Can he sense the starry eyes from the other end of the call?]

I've always wanted to try out an actual canon but I never got a chance to, just a rocket launcher-

I- I mean I had to borrow one for a photoshoot! Some military magazine thought they'd sell more copies if they had a cute girl on the front posing with the firearms, you know? Haha...

[He was not expecting a cute, teenage girl to be so interested in smithing work. But hey, it takes all types, right? It's not like there aren't lady blacksmiths out there. And weapons are cool! And so is the entire forging process!]

Yeah! We didn't get a lot of orders for them, but my old man and I have made a few in our time. Mostly for kingdom defense and one time for this warship they were building. It's a lot of hard work, but hey, it was fulfilling.

A military magazine? Like a catalogue that shows weapons and stuff? ...Huh, you know, I've never heard of advertising like that but it definitely makes sense. Maybe when I get enough together to open my forge, I can hire you to show off some swords.

[If asked directly, she would deny she was interested and make up some terrible excuse- after all, it wasn't becoming of a 'Fashion Diva' to be that interested in stuff like that, right?

Weapons were totally cool, though, as was forging.]

You helped kit out a warship...?! Now you're just showing off.

[And then he came up with his 'great' suggestion.

...That was normal, right? For models to do stuff like that?]

Huh- yeah, I'm totally happy to help you advertise! It'll take just the right level of cute and badass, so I can totally pull it off!

[NO ABORT, ABORT!]

Yeah! My old man and I did it! It was one of our best contracts!

But...you know, I think this could work! I mean, a lot of people here are from a time where they can't appreciate custom and tailor made equipment! A cute, badass girl showing them off would be a great way to draw in customers!

[Truth be told, she was a bit nervous - could she really pull off an actual modelling job? Well...she was in too deep to back out now, right?]

Yeah totally! Like I said, I've got a ton of experience modelling from back home, so I can totally pull it off!

Oh but you know, there's the matter of compensation. I can't have you advertise for me and not pay you somehow...

I could pay you in gold or, if you want, I can design some custom equipment for you. What do you think?

[ Cue a slightly disheveled man chiming in with his inimitable, hard-won wisdom. No one that this kid would know, to be sure, but Dante has his moments of wanting to interact with the world outside of the usual verbs like killing monsters and annoying his nephew. Everyone has to have their little moments.

Yeah, I guess it’s all well and good to learn things and shoot fireballs out our butts for justice or whatever, but it isn’t like we’re gonna see what it’s all for in the end.

Guess what I’m trying to say is this isn’t my fight, but I’m stuck with it. It’s not a real motivating cause.

It is. I know exactly what you mean. So why don't we try to figure out what you can do while you're here?

[ Being a fashion model and then suddenly switching gears to becoming a mage sounds like a rough time. ]

There must be some sort of boutique or clothing store looking for someone to model their clothes. I can't imagine why they wouldn't want that.

[Custom equipment you say?? Her eyes lit up at the prospect, but she quickly reminded herself that she had to remain professional.]

That'd be amazing if you don't mind brainstorming! Hey, maybe I can give you some ideas too!

[It sounded like she was in the same boat, to some extent.]

You'd think, wouldn't you? Like... they've gotta need some sort of advertising at least, right?

Well, you know, been on the cover of loads of Japanese Magazines, even some more global ones too! I was known as the Ultimate Fashionista for a reason, you know?

[The comment about shooting fireballs out their butts made her laugh - at least it lightened the mood a bit.]

Seems kinda off though doesn't it? I mean sure I guess you could say we're like, magical mercenaries or whatever, but... kinda feels like we've been thrown in the deep end with really vague orders, don't you think?

I know not what you seek to accomplish by continuing this masquerade, but know that my eyes are on you. Should you do anything to jeopardize this place, I will not hesitate to end you.

Do you at least have some gear to keep yourself protected now? I mean, I know you're a fashion model...but still. This place could be dangerous.

I mean I've got a knife but that's about it. But pretty good for fending off the odd weird stalker right?

That really depends on the knife, honestly. Granted, everyone knows to stick the pointy end into the thing you want to stab but there is such a thing as balance. Not to mention certain knives are better for cutting while others are made for stabbing. Two different motions and two completely different wound types.

In my expert opinion, a dagger or a stiletto would suit you best but...that's only because I have no idea about your dexterity and sense of balance.

Well yeah, balance, thickness of the blade, cutting edge- it's like you say, there's a lot to think about. And a tool's very different to a weapon.

[She reaches to one side and brings out a military looking combat knife to show him.]

This is what I'm using at the moment.

Come to think of it, a stiletto switchblade wouldn't be a bad shout, now that you mention it.
