of course it is! but i suppose no one can blame you. its not something many think of regularly. yet it is still an incredibly important issue of grave importance. far too many tongues have suffered as a result of subpar sauce.

hmmm mayo is rather distinct in form and flavor. but tomato sauce is often a popular one. same with various hot sauces.

The housekeepers I grew up with said that mayonnaise is one of the parent sauces in cooking - is that the case elsewhere? So it must be so. And it has its derivatives that may be served hot as well.

someone already answered this but belgian mayo is varied in its flavor and texture. its quite delicious and refined to the point where its considered a world, cultural, heritage worth protecting.
