That kind of dream is all the more telling. It certainly won't go away if you ignore it. But there's also something to be said for facing it on your own terms.

[Meaning he's not gonna pry if Tsuna is keeping the details close to his chest. Even if his advice comes across a bit like lecturing.]

Change the dream shouldn't be any problem at all. That's a lot easier than stopping them altogether.

That depends on what it is, doesn't it? What is it trying to tell you?

[Even if it's obviously it's not like you can solve anything in your sleep...]

There's a few options for what I can do to help. Some more invasive than others. If I were a doctor, I'd say it's best to start simple and work our way up. [Which he almost was, in another life.]

You don't have to tell me what is if you're not comfortable. We we can pick something else to replace it. A good memory you have or something you've always wanted to try. That kind of thing would be a good place to start. It's up to you.

[Whatever helps you sleep at night as it were.]

Since it involves the mind it's gonna be easier if I can do this in person.

It's a bit late for most anywhere to be open. What about the cafe attached to the hotel? It should be open all night to cater to guests. If that's not convenient we can find somewhere closer to you.

Perfect. Just ask for Hitoya when you get there.

[As promised Hitoya is waiting at the cafe, well in advance of Tsuna's arrival. At this late hour there's only a couple other night owls burning the midnight oil and the lone barista at the counter wiping down some mugs and glasses.

Hitoya had his pick of seating, but he sits at a booth that offers some privacy, with a notebook open in front of him, attention absorbed in whatever he's writing.]

sorry for the delay. it's been a month haha....

[Hitoya looks up with a kid smile. He didn't come into this interaction with many expectations but Tsuna is still younger than he would have thought.]

You got it. Have a seat. I know it's late but feel free to order anything you like.

[Treating Tsuna like he would one of his clients, it's in his nature to make the other feel comfortable. He's got a coffee himself, still steaming and mostly full.]

[He nods. Getting right to the point. Hitoya can respect that.]

First I'll need to get a good image of what you want to use to replace this dream.

[Reaching into the inner pocket of his jacket, he pulls out a fairly ordinary looking microphone and carefully sets it in front of Tsuna, nodding toward it.]

It doesn't look like much but that thing is connected to my magic. If you speak into, I should be able to imagine what you're describing.

[Fortunately the mic is ordinary enough, being a device that comes from Hitoya's world. In the owner's hands it might react differently but for Tsuna it will behave exactly as described.]

The replacement memory is the most import. Without that I can't form the new dream for you. But if you're willing to share both that will make the effect stronger. It's your choice.

[Regardless, he finally takes a sip from his coffee, leaving it to Tsuna to decide.]

That's right.

[Nodding to the mic.]

There's a switch on the side. It won't make a sound but I'll let you know if there's any problems.

[In the dead of night, set to the barely audible tune of innocuous coffee shop jazz, and little more than transitory spirits to keep them company, it would be terribly rude to disrupt that with any noise from a real speaker.]

[Hitoya doesn't give any indication that anything might be awkward. Once Tsuna starts to speak it doesn't matter anyway.

In his own mind the quiet, midnight cafe fades away to be replaced by the broad strokes of Tsuna's words, his descriptions breathing life into the these people he's never met. From a world he's never set foot in. It's a direct connection to his mind, his memories and Hitoya finds himself smiling at having something so cheerfully mundane play out before him.]

That's perfect. I've got everything so far.
