Who else here has fae in their world?
What are they like?
In mine, you would be unwise to trust them but even more unwise to try and ignore them or meddle with them. They steal babies and replace them with fae things called Changelings, and treat humans like lower life forms only there for their use or amusement. They speak in riddles and will use words to trick you. They don't think like humans or share their moral boundaries.
The ones here seem to be the same way, and I don't trust them any more than I would trust the ones back home. But angering them would be a stupid thing to do.
Recently I've been wondering if more people here have positive experiences with fae than not.
[Sure would explain a few things.]

The ones here are weird but fine. Definitely not much different from humans. Most humans don't hold the "moral boundaries" they claim to, they just get mad when those boundaries aren't held specifically for them. And it's not like they don't treat some non-humans worse than they do each other.

Does your world have anything other than fae and humans? I met someone who only had humans and demons in their world, and they also claimed to have more bad stories than good ones.
no subject
I don't think much of humans either.
And there are different kinds of fae, if that's what you mean, but other than that no, there are only fae and humans.
no subject
I wasn't asking about different kinds of fae. I was just wondering if humans in your world would have less bad stories about fae if there were things other than just those two.

Anyway, we have stories of them. But they're not really real back home unless you're talking to Mr. England or Norway. A lot of those stories basically just say to not be rude to them, or to be extra careful what you say and do around 'em.

And the ones here? What do you think of them?

They're very real in my world.
no subject
They seem very cruel.
( all the same... that's another question entirely. can a whole species of anything be equally cruel? maybe that's just one of the ways she's not prepared for a place like Avalon. )
Were there any exceptions?
no subject
Part of it is that they just don't have the same moral boundaries as humans. Similar to the ones here. There are exceptions... but I would still be wary to fully trust any of them.

but maybe she should let the director head rest a moment and concentrate on reality. )
I see. And with their magic, they're very powerful beings too. That makes it difficult for humans to fight back against it...
( at least if you get scammed by a person there's the police there!
... hm. what about a fae lawyer play.... )

It makes me wonder if there was a time before the fae, but there's no written history that goes back that far.

Fae, I don't really know much about, but everything I've read makes them seem similar to 'youkai', a concept I'm way more familiar with.
no subject
Youkai? I don't know the word.
[As much as she never likes admitting to her own ignorance, it doesn't bother her as much as it used to.]
What are they?

[So, not too difficult to understand after all.]
Are you able to go to the 'other world'?

[And dangerous.]
Not many people would try.

Why trade human baby for changeling baby? Are changeling babies hard to raise into adult fairies?
no subject
They were trying to find something. Or create something. A special human that could take the place of somebody called the Hierophant.
