My birthday is later this week and I would rather not make my own cake for the occasion.

I also have a terrible sweet-tooth, I believe is the expression.

Understandable. You might as well treat yourself by having someone else treat you. What else are namedays for? Or birthdays, however you prefer to refer to them.

Anyway, I would second the recommendation for the café! Mine was earlier this moon, about a week ago, and I went there for the very same thing.

But yes, I did not want to bake on my birthday. It's been a tradition in my home that it's one of the few days of the year I don't have to.

It was all right. I rarely make a big deal of it, but it's an excuse to do something nice for myself that I don't do normally. I hate that it always seems to fall during the cold season no matter where I am, though...

Do you run a bakery yourself? Or is it a hobby or something?

Spring would be just starting where I lived on my birthday.

But I do not run a bakery, I had never thought of such a thing. I'm still finding my footing in independence. I just work for a flower shop at the moment. Baking is a necessity, I grew up in a forest, if you wanted something cooked, you had to make it yourself.

No, not really. My aunts will have made a cake and we might enjoy it together but that has been it for the past 15 years. I don't even know what you're supposed to do at them. The few I've attended are all vastly different from one another.

I'm not so into sweets and I'd ask Taichi but well, he's the type to like those weird neon color cakes. [They aren't natural. Nothing should be bright colors like that.] I can at least take you to lunch and we can go shopping at some point, though, right? That's something! My treat and everything.
