I beg your pardon, there is something I would like to ask: how does one go about asking for a job?

It is quite difficult to look for a job when you still have to go to school all day.

But I do think I should be able to help the florist once I manage to get a chance to speak with her. [Alice takes a deep breath.] But I've never done such a thing.

Do I just... ask the florist? How does one go about doing this? I certainly am well-spoken enough, and I know my flowers. I've never worked with money, though, will that be a problem?

I want to help Mr. Nero. He took me in, not just me, but Mr. Ken too, and there are others living with us.

And I am focusing on school and I quite enjoy tea parties. My papa and mother would never forgive me if I slacked on my studies. [Even if she knows she should use the word "slack."]

Well, if your parent or guardian's busy with their jobs, you can help set their minds to ease by doing some of the regular chores around the house. Like washing some dishes or doing some dusting. Just whatever small tasks you can do when you're not busy with school work or play time with friends.
