[ Louis appears on the camera, and behind him is a very empty looking room at the inn. Perfect - just how he decorates. He leans back into a chair and has his arms folded over his chest. ]
I was away for a few months and things got bad here, it looks like. I think I have the short version of what happened, and I don't need all of the details. Besides, that's not why I'm here on the network.
[ He considers and then -- ]
In December, at home, we have a Holiday called Rexmas. It's to be spent with families and loved ones, gift giving, that sort of thing. I wager other places have similar holidays, and if you want - you can share what yours are. I'm admittedly a bit curious. December is always busy and eventful for me, and this is the first year in many where I don't anticipate being busy, so I don't know what to do with myself.
Which made me get an idea, which I suspect that a lot of people will like.
[ His tone doesn't shift, and his attention seems solidly on the camera. His tone is...formal, almost stern. ]
I'm thinking that the first weekend of December we should have a party for everyone. A formal party, or maybe a masquerade? Maybe let me know what sounds more fun for you. An opportunity for people to dress up in something nice and enjoy each other's company. To drink, and dance, and party, essentially.
I've worked to organize events like this at home many times before, so I have no problem securing a location, and working to organize the event. As long as others are willing to volunteer to help with setup of it.
[ He unfolds his arms, and his body seems to relax. He smiles a little. ]
That being said, I want to make sure everyone can fully enjoy themselves, and it's a safe event. So I do have a few things that I want to ensure are absolutely going to be rules.
First, children under the age of sixteen will be forbidden to stay after nine in the evening. Second, all weapons are to be left at home. Third, no fighting with magic, either. Magic may be used for the purpose of entertainment at the event.
Again, I want a peaceful, safe event - so these are the only real non-negotiables. Beyond those, I'm open to suggestions, contributors. That's sort of thing.

wrapping this up?
un: music2myears
Sounds like Christmas but starring a T-Rex instead of Santa Claus. But I can help set up and stuff, if you want.
I don’t really have any Christmas traditions, most in Japan get that bucket of fried chicken from KFC but I can do with any food to be honest. None of my friends are here [Or know him, he’s been hesitant to reach out because of that.] so I’m alright with whatever.
no subject
We obviously have parts of it that center around a good meal, too. It's probably pretty clear it's [ heh ] not fried chicken, though.
There's no one from my home here, either. There was when I was here previously, at least for a little bit.
no subject
Probably not. But I’m good with whatever meal as long as I’m with friends. Sorry to hear yours aren’t here anymore though.
Do you want help with setting up?

and like
with the way things are around here
we probably heckin need it
if ur gonna have rules u probably need ppl to enforce them
or somebody that knows how to setup magic wards that keep ppl honest
like where if someone has a weapon on them
they can't pass the barrier etc
[ if he sounds paranoid... he is. ]
otherwise i'm willing to help out if there's something i can do!

[ he's pulling his leg ]
I'm not super concerned as long as no one causes problems.

[ Look at this reply. There's absolutely not a single hint of hesitation on Minako's end - she looks excited as all heck about this idea, a grin stretching from ear to ear.
.. though it's apparently not the only thing she has to say. ]
But I'm glad you're proposing an under sixteen age limit, because if you upped that even one yet, I would have thrown a fit! [ She is a partying sixteen year old who wants to be respected. Clearly. ]

[ He...doesn't sound like he's joking, but he is. ]
no subject
Do you hear that pause?
That's the exact time Minako needs to consider whether or not he's joking. She figures he is, but his tone sounds so convincingly like he isn't, that Minako is starting to look more and more shocked by the moment. ]
N-No way, right? That's a joke, isn't it?! You wouldn't do that to a beautiful girl, would you?! [ Please, Minako, you're talking to a deer. ]

A masquerade, how exciting! I’ve never been to any sort of formal dance before. [Or an informal dance, for that matter.] There was a very lovely dress waiting for me when I arrived here - it’d be fun to have a chance to wear it.
… Ah, I don’t believe we’ve met. I’m Mash Kyrielight, and while I can’t offer much in the way of suggestions, I’d be happy to help however I can with preparations!
no subject
You had a lovely dress just...randomly? [ they sure bring interesting things, huh ]
I'm Louis. And I appreciate help with preparations regardless. The planning part isn't the hardest, it's the set-up and making sure we have enough hands.

Although the age thing is a bit unfair. Couldn't you at least move it to a little later?
