Two questions.
1. Does anyone have any ideas about how to turn a mechanical object into one which runs on magic?
2. Would people be interested in a social media channel of videos explaining science and doing experiments to determine the differences between Earth and Avalon? Like gravity, acceleration, states of matter - things like that.

I'd probably start with some simple things like what certain areas of science are called and what they study, so people can get an idea of what they might want to watch.
What sorts of things do you like to learn about?

Also androids. I think that's the term. People who are machines, instead of flesh and blood. I want to understand that.

I mean, can I help you with this channel? Please?

... what the actual heck was that misjournal, self.
But, yes. I want in. We can be nutty professors, or something. Or I'm just your sidekick. I could handle that too.
lol I definitely had A Moment
I have no idea. I blame the fact that I have two journals with 'shiro' in the username
<3
I would definitely have said something if Naoto was actually in.

It's, uh, something I was trying to work on back home, actually, but didn't get too far. Actually, there's a lot of discussion back home about the difference, or, well, non-difference between science and magic, but that's not the point here, sorry.

Magic works a lot differently back home than it does here. Or, well, it seems to. At home, only certain people seem to be able to do magic. And, well, it's not exactly seen as a good thing. Fairy Godmother keeps telling everyone that it's better to do things without magic, than just magic things up.
But then again, people do use magic for big things, and don't seem to mind too much if people do use it, so it's all contradictory.
Anyway, I'm pretty sure that almost anything that can be done with magic back home can be done with science of some sort.

2. If you start this, you're getting free promotional spots on my vlog. I won't take any arguments against this.

Haha Thanks, Allura. You don't have to, but I think you know that. It feels like more and more of a sure thing, so when we have a few episodes recorded and are ready to go live, I'll let you know. :) We appreciate the help.

thank you for being so patient
NP, believe me I get it

2. SCIENCE
[...That's probably a favorable response.]

Lol Yes, science! You interested in watching or helping?

it was a fairly common practice in my world
im sure youll find people with similar abilities here if you needed
but that would depend on the object in question

I'm definitely in the market for someone who can do that - I'm just not sure how to go about searching for that. The thing is pretty special and sentimental to me as well as useful, you know? Handy.

I'm pretty sure you can make magical things with Alchemy. I've been working on infusing other kinds of magic into things as permanent enchantments. And I'm used to magic powering things in my world--or at least bringing them into existence and giving them life? But I'm not sure how to do that here.
Re: text; un: selcouth
I don't think I'd want the item I'm working with to have life, exactly, or at least not to be sentient or sapient? The last time I saw it, it had been set up to use the wielder's excess energy or life force to power itself without harming the user and allow it to act as if it were alive. I'm not sure if that makes sense out loud rather than in my head.

2. That's actually pretty similar to my own social media channel! It's not specifically about the differences between Earth and Avalon, but I do talk about and experiment with the differences a lot.

You really have a show? Shoot! I missed it! Are you okay with a sibling show, or would you prefer to have a monopoly on it?

2. Our biology doesn't even work right here, so why would physics?
text; u/n: Rocketman
2. I think the biology thing depends on your universe. Having magic is what I would term an evolutionary step up from where humans are back on my Earth. So the baseline for here is definitely different than a baseline at home. When you get transferred to a new place, oftentimes you wind up getting more or less translated into what would fit in within the world you're going to, in my experience.
So if the biology conforms to this world's baseline, it would be interesting to see what kind of physics baseline they have in comparison to the one I know.
