(CW/TW: mentions of undead, impalement, and a brief mention of self-harm practices... and also mild, yet colourful cursing)
[On the anonymously posted video is someone who is now perhaps a slightly recognizable figure; an adolescent youth of extraordinarily pale features and dark, ink-black hair.]
To anyone looking to venture into the Land of Rot to assist with the preparations for the equinox, I’ll be volunteering as an escort. Fighting the undead is my speciality.
[Walter looks about ready to leave it off there, before a strangled whimper sounds in the background, leading him to look over his shoulder behind him. For a moment, he contemplates. Then, facing the camera once more, he adds:]
…Oh, and if there are any healers who feel like tending to a bloke wanting to hack off unicorn horns, I’ll be handing this wanker over to the knights.
[He pivots to capture on his video feed one Poacher in Distress, who at this moment happens to be impaled to a tree trunk via unicorn horn.]
Personally, I think he deserves to suffer through it the old-fashioned way. But I figure some of you might like the free practice.
[It’s better than them harming themselves to get said practice, he reasons.]
Let me know if you want to give either a try. I’ll be checking back regularly.

[Walter has the poacher's arms very thoroughly secured. The man appears to be wrapped up by a wire, the deceptively thin length wound many times about his arms. The bleeding isn't too terrible. Not life-threatening, to say the least. But the man is definitely the worse for wear.]
That was quick!

It's the wires that get her attention more than the injuries, though. They're slightly reminiscent of home for her.]
I like your wires. I know some people from my home who use wires as a weapon.

[Special abilities like that... any special ability, really, was extremely rare in his world. Amongst humans, that is. Monsters had plenty of extraordinary talents.]
You must come from an interesting place.

You learned how to use a weapon like that without anyone training you? That's amazing!
[She pulls out one of her kunai from her clothing. It's got a little charm tied to it at the end that looks like a ninja all in pink, making it look a little more cute and a little less deadly, but the blade is well crafted and sharp, and she holds it as if it's second nature to her.]
The Academy I go to teaches how to use these and shuriken.

He can't help but feel a little pleased by that. Yet, he also gives her weaponry due care in consideration. The blade is unlike any he has ever seen before. Rather thick, but forged with, he thinks, multiple purposes in mind. The little figure may be tied to it now, but one could easily tie something else to it instead.]
Interesting. Is it for surviving the outdoors? Or are they training you for future enlistment?

[It's nice to be able to talk about weapons with someone who's comfortable with them, and not surprised that someone her age wields them. But then, considering that he only looks a few years older than her and can competently wield such a challenging weapon, chances are that he hasn't come from a peaceful place.]

[Were he not presently occupied with a captive, he would likely inquire further into the matter. Although there were apparently other combat-minded people that looked to be around his age, her wording reminds him more of his situation. Of training for war, rather than for heroics, or whatever it is professional heroes do.]
Well. Here's the fellow I mentioned. [He says, nudging said man with his foot.] His injury has already been assessed, so we can take him to the knights at any time.

All right. If it starts bleeding more, I can help deal with it.
[Although she doesn't intend on parting with them unless it becomes necessary to save the man. She's not sympathetic to the poacher.]
I read that it's possible to control someone like a puppet with blood magic. I suppose I could try that if he tries to escape.
[It's all said quite conversationally, but in case he decided that the petite girl might be more merciful than his captor, it doesn't hurt to dissuade him of that notion.]

[He won't stop her. If anything, he intends to encourage her. They need to hone their present magic, after all.]
You could even give it a try now, if you like. Help him walk a little faster.
no subject
All right.
[It's not something she feels comfortable using during training with an ally unless she's explicitly told it's okay to do so, but to keep a poacher from escaping...that's a more acceptable circumstance. And she does need practice so that she can use it in an emergency.
Taking a slow breath in, she holds a hand out and concentrates on their captive - specifically, his blood. She's conscious of it pulsating through him, and she takes hold of him even as he objects "Don't I get a say in this?!"]

Looks like it's working!
[There's a hint of a congratulatory tone in his words. She's doing well!]
Now, then. Let's get going so we can hand him off.

She has him moving at a good pace - enough that the two of them can walk at a brisk speed and the poacher won't lag behind.]
Where do we need to turn him in? I haven't done any quests yet.
no subject
[He could explain it, but it would be faster to show the location itself. So he pulls out his phone, navigating to a map of the city before turning the device to show her.]
Here.
[He points to the spot; the same place that quests regarding fugitives and criminals generally direct one to drop them off at.]

[Although judging by the strained expression of their captive, the walk was going to feel like an eternity to him.]
no subject
[And, given what their captive has had to endure so far, he doesn't have much energy left to put up a struggle.
The journey is a short one.]
