Ninth: A Tactical Decision (Text; anon)
(TW: Murder/Sororicide, Betrayal, DR Spoilers)
[The last few months had given Mukuro a lot to think about- especially with regard to her own death back home. One part still didn't make any sense to her:
What had she done wrong? Why had Junko killed her?
...It was with those thoughts swimming around in her head that she sent another late night message to the network.]
27 AUG XX, 0324
Reviewing the strategy from a recent battle at home. I want to understand the rational for the decisions taken.
A soldier is engaged in a stealth/undercover mission. However, they have made a mistake that risks the operation's success, and have not realised their error.
The mission commander is in a position to eliminate the operative to preserve their mission, without exposing themselves in the process.
Is that course of action reasonable? To put it another way- under what circumstances would you consider sacrificing one of your own men to ensure a mission's success or to prevent it's failure?
Don't feel you have to answer.

If the plan wasn't for them to die and if the commander was competent, they'd have found a way to save the soldier's life. They'd have found a way to continue the plan in another way.
Either the commander was incompetent or didn't care. In either case, they don't deserve their soldiers's loyalty.

[And then rather than deleting that part of the message, she accidentally hit 'send'. Oops. Well...not much she could do about that now.]
The commander was competent. Intelligent. Analytical.
So that would mean the plan was
[...for her to die all along. And Monika wasn't the first one to suggest that, either.]

[ So that anon person was talking about themselves. And was probably dead back in their homeworld because of said commander. ]
Imagine someone else in the predicament you're talking of.
They give their loyalty to their commander, who in turns send them into a suicide mission without telling them.
Such a commander is a monster.

And then there was the assertion that it was a suicide mission to begin with and that Junko intended to kill her.]
I don't know.
It's. I screwed up. That's all that happened.
[But she kept reading Monika's message over again.]
But everyone's saying it was the plan to start with. That she betrayed me.
I really don't know.

And if you posted this question on the network, I think that means you know she betrayed you. But you're in denial of that fact and seeking for reassurance.
Life is precious, you know? And no matter what you may have been told, yours is no less precious than anyone else's. Don't give your loyalty to someone who won't treat your life with the care you deserve.
