Hello, my name is Tsuzuru Minagi. I'm the scriptwriter for the Kaika Company our director posted about it earlier.

I'm currently brainstorming for our first play. I've been reading up on different tales in the library but I'm interested in any stories from your world. There are many people from different places that have different stories I'd love to hear about. You can also post them anonymously if that makes you more comfortable.

I've a wide collection of tales to provide, however I am unsure of what has become of the state of modern theater in this age. While a performance must always engage its audience, that audience can always change, and people from my time are far different from what they are now.

[ Basically he's Old. And he has high standards. ]

Hmm, I'm still learning about theater in this new world, but I know back home we got good reception for our plays and street acts too. I'm sure the people here would love to hear your tales. I'll write it in a way that will keep the essence of the story, but with enough modern references to pull in a new audience. I don't want to change the story as much as present it in a way that will appeal to the audience. My first play for my troupe was a retelling of Romeo and Juliet where the two guys fighting over Juliet ended up being friends instead. It would be something like that.

Ah, I have read of this story of Romeo and Juliet within the libraries here. This tale does not reside in my world, but appears to be something referenced as a classic tragedy. What would be the purpose of rewriting this play as to alter its narrative and essentially change the entirety of the story so it is no longer a tragedy? Do many not enjoy tragic plays in this age?

Well, people in this time has varied tastes that some people would enjoy the tragic aspect of the play while others would not. However, when it comes to the troupe that I'm from we're not known for tragedies so many people wouldn't have liked it if I kept it in. I made sure not to change it completely, but to make a narrative reflective of the current time we live in. I have done plays with sad endings, though it always depends on the troupe of actors. Back home we had a group that specialize in that category that I'm sure we'll be able to find a troupe here that can do the same too.

A play, huh?

What kinda play?

Well, back home we put on different plays based on different troupes that we were in. My troupe specialized in traditional fantasy and fairy tale plays, so I would take fantasy and fairy tales then rewrite them to fit our trope. We had a trope that specialized in comedy then another one that specialized in action and adventure and one that specialized in serious plays. So I would do my best to write a play that fits the kind of genre that you're interested in. Did you have a genre you're interested in?

I know some fairy tales from home and I've gone on lots of adventures.

So I'm probably best for somethin' like that but I'm not much of a story teller. Oh! Maybe that time I met my mate Erik?

Well, I think it would be good to start out with fantasy or a fairy tale. Those are genres my trope is known for. Do you have any suggestions?

Have you ever heard of the story of the Sea Witch?

[nightwriter]

Hmm, I feel like I heard it, but haven't read it. What happens in the Sea Witch?

Under the sea, there was a generous Sea Witch who would help anyone and everyone who came to her for help. It's said she wanted to help for free, but as people often came to her for magical help, she had to make them pay a price.

One day, the youngest princess came to her grotto and begged her for help. She'd fallen in love with a surface prince, she said, and she wanted legs. The Sea Witch didn't think it was really love, but she wanted to help the young mermaid and came up with a plan. The cost for a transformation potion at the time was steep--the mermaid would give the witch her voice and have enough potion for three days. If she felt the same about the prince after that point, and if he was interested in her, then the Witch would find a way to give the girl legs and return her voice.

[If you're thinking "this is just The Little Mermaid from the perspective of the Witch"...yeah about that.]

The king wasn't happy about it, and it wasn't easy, but eventually the mermaid and her prince were happy on land together and the Sea Witch was forever known as a generous soul.

It's one of my favorite bits of history.

Hmm, I have a few stories from plays and TV dramas me and my bandmates have done. Would those interest you? At least they could give you some inspiration.

They would! I'd be interested to know what kind of shows your bandmates have done. Are there any shows you've done that you want to tell me about?

[saxsongs]

Hmm, well one that springs to mind is a story about two rivaling high schools. I played the part of a delinquent who helped the student council in my school to connect better with the student base and I was known as the Lone Wolf otherwise.

The other school was looking to overtake ours because it was concerned about the amount of trouble and lack of discipline our school district had. Basically it was a story full of spreading rumors and trying to make as many student as possible to switch schools.
