Video / un; Berserker #merlinquest
[Despite the username, it's not Beowulf himself that appears on the feed. But an unearthly, beautiful woman. Smiling teasingly, seductively at the feed, her fair hair braided with a few locks falling down the sides of her cheeks. Green eyes stared captivating at whoever happened to pop in.]
I'm feeling incredibly lonely tonight. Would there happen to be anyone willing to keep me company for a bit~?
[The voice was cool and calm. Like a light breeze brushing against leaves.]
[Action]
[Sometime later a somewhat annoyed looking Beowulf could be spotted carrying bags of clothing and snacks with that same, seductive woman clinging to his arm. Giggling and looking like she was having the time of her life.
Do you approach?]
[ooc: Basically his familiar decided to play a little prank after getting a little miffed that he hasn't introduced her yet. As a side note, I'm still forced to use my phone for internet so replies are gonna be a bit slow and probably not all that large.]

She thinks about it very hard for a few seconds, then puts that option aside as not really viable, and waving cautiously. ]
Hey-- uh, I'm not interrupting a date or something, right?
Re: action
Mm, you are cutie.
[That was the woman clinging to him, her voice still as smooth and light as the wind. Soft, gentle, and pretty. She even pouts a little at seeing Beowulf perk up at the sight of the girl.]
No, you're not, don't worry about it.
[That was from the berserker himself.]
no subject
[ She doesn't get too close--she knows better than to trust that someone who looks delicate and gentle wouldn't be able to literally tear her to shreds--but she does approach to about an arm's length away, folding both of hers behind her back. ]
If I'm not, then, I was gonna ask if you could help me with something...
[ She doesn't actually know what, yet. Mostly this had just been the instinctive response of seeing One Of Hers > immediately head over to say hi. But if he needs help untangling himself (literally), she can think of something fast if she needs to. ]
no subject
[He will take it if it means keeping his wallet from completely bleeding dry and stop his familiar from clinging to him!
Said woman just kept pouting and let out a sigh. Her fun was over it seemed. Still she didn't let go.]
no subject
There's a couple of seconds where she hems about it, then says: ]
Wanna teach me how to hunt?
[ Look... it's something she's considered the need to learn, especially as she continues to be broke, it means he can do something physical and a little violent, and probably(??) a nice pretty lady won't follow them that far.
Probably. She does not actually know this is his familiar yet. ]
no subject
[The woman next to him tilts her head slightly at that. Evidently a bit more interested now. Her long skirts also rustled lightly, though she herself wasn't moving.
Something more physical would be appreciated. The few tussle have had the other month were barely able to get his pulse going. Beyond that o e encounter with the Saber.]
Mm, I can do that. We'll need to take this stuff back to my place though.
[He lifts the bags in both hands up, along with the still clinging woman who gets shaken from her thoughts and let's out an excited giggle.]
no subject
[ But as a strictly practical thing, she doesn't think it'd be a bad idea, and even if Beowulf can't punch a fantasy deer to death, he still feels like the best bet out of the Servants she knows are here.
(What if Gawain makes her get on a horse again. The horror.) ]
...I'd appreciate it. I can help with putting stuff away if you need it.
no subject
Mm, I wouldn't say no. So long as you don't mind her tagging along.
[He gestures to the woman.]
no subject
I don't mind at all... hi, I'm Ritsuka. Me and Beowulf go back a bit.
[ She offers her hand, because--why not? It's polite, right? This is a western city, with more western conventions. ]
no subject
[There was a small curtsey before she takes Ritsuka's hand. Her own grip was light and soft and warm. Like really soft moss or soil.]
no subject
[ She's surprised by the revelation, but her handshake is steady and calm. That puts things in a whole new light. ]
Nice to meet you, Eik. Sorry, I didn't know some of you could talk. Mine can't. I think.
[ Hers is not here; hers is asleep in a weird little deer loaf on her bed back at the inn. ]
no subject
[Let's face it, if a deer starts talking to you, you might need to nope on out of there.]
She's a Huldra, sort of like a tree spirit. If you want to hunt, fish, or forage it'd be a good idea to take her along.
no subject
For now, though, she brightens further. ]
Oh! Yeah, I've heard that the forest can be kind of tricky--in that case, I'll be in your care! The both of you!
[ So her plans to get Beowulf some time away from his clingy friend have been derailed--but this probably is still fine, right? Hunting and otherwise traipsing around the woods is probably preferable to casual shopping.
And there's the bonus of there being food at the end. ]
action!
So Kadoc thinks when he catches a glimpse of this situation from about a block away, and finds himself curiously following at a distance. Of course he'd seen the video and immediately disregarded it, after a quick glance at the Dark Web to make sure the love 'em and leave 'em quest from last month hadn't been reposted or something. It hasn't, but that doesn't mean the video invitation isn't suspicious and offputting. So he'd pushed it to the back of his mind, but seeing the woman in person, with Beowulf of all people . . .
The hell?
He follows, just because he can't stop wondering. His curiosity eventually leads him closer, less than half a block away, easy enough to be spotted if Beowulf should happen to look in his direction. He's not being as subtle as he could be. But for now, actually saying anything seems . . . like it'd be a foolish choice, to say the least.
Beowulf does not look happy.]
no subject
Probably doesn't help that Beowulf is big and can pick him out of a crowd.
Beowulf himself doesn't particularly care one or the other. The woman though looks at him directly when he gets closer and gives him a wink.]
no subject
Maybe he should just walk away, but . . . it's hard to just pretend this didn't happen. What if the woman tells him, and Kadoc ends up looking even more sketch? So he approaches, slowly, still at some distance.]
. . . Hey. Sorry, I wasn't expecting to be interrupting this . . . whatever it is.
no subject
Oh, so y- It's a date!
[The woman cuts him off. All smiles that would cause the hardest of hard hearts to melt. Really she is super pretty and looks all sorts of out of place hanging off of him.]
...It's not.
no subject
[Of course, the victor is the one who says it isn't, always. Both people have to agree to it for it to be a date! But even seeing Beowulf with this woman is . . . bizarre. Had he responded to her post? Kadoc hadn't seen him do so. So they'd already been in private contact? How and why, if this is what they act like? He's not the only one who looks sketch here!]
no subject
He obviously didn't respond because... well she'd been using his phone-thing.]
Far more awkward out there. Like following someone from a distance.
[Bruh you stand out like a sore thumb, bruh.]
no subject
[Not that he's not some embarrassed, but in a way, it's a relief to have it acknowledged and not have to pretend like maybe any of them thought any part of this was normal. He curls his arms around himself, but otherwise, he relaxes some, coming a little closer.]
Can you blame me? Not that it matters if you can or can't. I'm just trying to figure out what's going on between that network post earlier and now this.
action;
Well, that sure is something Minako is spotting as she's walking down the street. She recognizes Beowulf, but not the woman who's with him. And while it would be easy to assume he's just out on a date, Beowulf looks weirdly.. annoyed..?
Minako is so confused. But she's never one to suffer confusion in silence, which is why she's already walking up on the two. ]
Hi! Are you two.. out on a date? [ It still seems like the most logical conclusion, despite the look on the guy's face. ]
no subject
[Came the replies at the same time.
'Sup Minako? Don't be too confused, because it really isn't all that confusing. Also the woman looked like she was having quite a bit of fun at his expense.]
No, we're just shopping.
[That was Beowulf.]
no subject
Minako doesn't think it can be very much a good thing when two people don't even agree about whether they're on a date or not.. And it just leaves her more confused. Is she just into Beowulf, and he isn't into her? ]
Together? You.. don't exactly look like you're having fun.
[ Just to point out the obvious here. ]
no subject
Oh, no I'm having the time of my life right now!
[The woman gave another giggle as she rests herself against him. Beowulf in turn rolls his eyes.]
I wouldn't say fun. More getting dragged around 'cause she feels like I haven't given her much attention.
no subject
[ Sure, he may have denied that there's a date going on here. But a boyfriend and a girlfriend can still go out shopping together without it being a date, right?
So of course Minako is seeing it this way. ]
I know you're a pretty good guy, so I'm sure there's a good reason for it.. But still, make sure to be nice to her! She loves you, you know!
no subject
His reaction is to look a bit confused, and then to give her an amused smirk. The woman next to couldn't help herself and let out a chortle. Like she heard something beyond amusing and was trying not to completely crack up.]
Yeah, you heard her dear! You should pay more attention to your... love.
[There was another fit of laughter and a shake of a head from Beowulf.]
Nah, she ain't my girlfriend or anything like that.
no subject
But then.. what could this possibly be? Minako looks more befuddled by the moment. ]
Well, then tell me what's really going on! [ She demands. Or, well, 'demand' is a flexible word here, considering how confused and flustered she looks. ] You can't just tell me 'it's not like that' and then not tell what it is like! Unless a wizard put some terrible curse on you that prevents you from ever talking about it!
[ She may have a vivid imagination. ]
no subject
Oh, I wouldn't call it a curse to be bound with this man~.
[The woman gave another wink, hugging a large bicep. Beowulf gave a roll of his eyes.]
She's my familiar.
[She looks like a normal woman. A very pretty woman. But normal all the same!]
no subject
.. though even that direct answer still makes her glance between Beowulf.. and the woman.
That.. sure looks like a woman?
And Minako is pretty sure there's no people familiars, right?! ]
Y-You know.. You don't have to lie about your girlfriend, you know? I don't think it's embarrassing to be dating at all!
[ At least she's saying it in the most gentle possible way. Or, well, the most gentle possible way by Minako standards. But she sure is making some Assumptions about what's going on here, if not just based on the fact that he's trying to tell her a person is his familiar. Which sounds impossible. ]
no subject
Yes, how could you lie about me being your girlfriend?
[Her voice at least, sounds more teasing than chastising. It also gets Beowulf to sigh and shake his head.]
Regardless, you been well? Haven't seen ya for a hot minute.
no subject
Regardless?
This isn't just something he can brush off so easily! But then again, Minako figures that maybe he's just way too shy to talk about it, and she needs to give him a slight break to regain some courage. His girlfriend sure doesn't seem bothered, at least, so it shouldn't hurt..
Besides, it's nice of him to ask. ]
Me? Oh.. Yeah, I'm fine! [ She quickly nods. ] I know there's quite some trouble in town this month, but I'm not an animal mage, so..
[ She shrugs a little. She's not in the most danger here. ]
I've just been trying to help keep an eye on my friends who do have animal powers.
no subject
And if she wants to continue thinking they were an item despite Beowulf's fairly blunt response, then hey whatever~! Her reaction so far was cute anyway.
Especially the whole bit about thinking he's shy. Okay so that would miff him a bit, but it was cute all the same!]
Worried over your friends are you.
[There had been apparent trouble in regards to a few individuals here. Though he himself didn't see the need to bother around with it too much. His current priorities were more focused around his master than anything else.]
They're awful lucky to have a friend like you then.
no subject
[ It seems like a pretty natural reaction to Minako, especially considering the scale at which things are happening. It's not just that someone is only cranky about animal mages - there are people actively being sent to go after them.
That's actual danger. Injuries, or something even worse..
Minako doesn't even want to think about any of that happening to anyone she knows. ]
I mean, aren't you worried about your friends here with those powers as well after hearing all that?
no subject
[Truthfully he was worried, though more for his newly arrived master than the others. But Beowulf was also an optimist and figured things would end up okay in the end.
Still didn't help that there was a group of people going around bugging others.]
But yeah, I am, to an extent. And to an extent I'm not.
no subject
It feels a little bit like an odd answer to Minako. But then she thinks about Beowulf, and.. well, she figures it's either because he believes himself to be tough enough to handle it, or he's just one of those Manly Men who hate admitting to being worried.
Whichever it is, she ends up slowly nodding. ]
So you think it's probably going to be okay.
[ It's only a half-statement, really. There's nearly an audible question mark at the end, as she tries to search his face for the answer - curious, and perhaps wanting a bit of reassurance.
Because Minako has, indeed, been worrying way too much about it. ]
