Okay, looks like not everyone knows about this, so I'm gunna try to get right to the point.

Apparently, someone put out some magic that's given some of you humans animals ears and tails and what not. Personally I think you guys look better that way. But now another dude thinks that A) an animal mage did it, which makes no sense, 'cause last I checked, animal changes can only do that stuff to themselves, and B) thinks the best solution to reverse what's going on by murdering all the animal mages.

Yeah. Solid logic there.

I'm trying to give a head's up here because not only have animal mages been attacked, but so does anyone who already looked like an animal, including yours truly. I've personally seen some of these money-hungry monsters go after kids, so, just to be clear, it's bad out there right now. So if you're an animal mage, or you've always had non-human traits, please be safe! Don't go out alone if you can, stay in groups!

I'm sure we can get this nonsense wrapped up as soon as possible, but until then, let's make sure no one messes with our mages!

Are you sure? Cause it sounded like parties aren't your thing. After all that's going on, you shouldn't have to be forced to go along with something you wouldn't be comfortable with.

I... suppose that's true. I've been doing that a lot more since I've gotten here. There was a time where I knew people who had never heard me speak at all.

Pretty much! I mean, there are other types of birds - parrots, swans, chickens... and other animals too, like beagles and pigs. Really, I'd say the only thing we don't have are humans. I never met my first real one before I came here.

To put it mildly... But is Fódlan your home? What's it like? ... Aside from full of humans and not-talking ducks.

It's not nearly as modern as this place. I think the word people here would use is "medieval."

Fódlan has... um, had three different countries. I think now it's down to two. [And on its way to being united as one.] It's protected by a goddess.
