When... someone leaves here... do they go back to their world for certain? I've been here for many months, but I've seen... some leave, and some return, without memory of ever being here at all.

Will all our time together be forgotten? Will I no longer have these happy memories, when I return and I'm locked away again?

Fo-Forgive me for speaking of something so morose. It's just, someone I cared for... seems to have left. I'm not sure how I am feeling, this is all... terribly new to me. Perhaps someone could give some insight?

[ She feels a bit guilty saying anything at all, but she bows her head. ]

You would not be wrong. I'm not certain if others from his world have departed as well, but... it had been more time than I'd expect since I'd heard from him.

As a servant he understands the feeling of returning to the grail and losing ones memories. However, even he acknowledges that fate could not strip him of his feelings toward someone who may be hard to remember. Yet lives on even in his own heart, no matter what summoning he will come to. ]

You must forgive me, it is hard to articulate. I'm not used to feeling such... confusion, over the absence of another. Spiritkind such as myself tend to be understanding of change, but... for some reason, after being here, I feel... dread. I cannot understand why.

Milady, it may be because on this realm we are all humans. I too had to adjust to the reality of this upon coming here. I needn't sleep in the past, but now as I am. I must sleep a steady 8 hours a day, and eat plenty.

His name was Lord Nobunaga. I knew of a demon lord and a mortal by that name, but this one was a different existence entirely.

He was mortal. The Demon Lord I knew was a being of the shadows, and the mortal he had taken on was his vessel.

That vessel wasn't the same as the man I met here. He didn't even come from a world where spiritkind like myself existed.

I don't think any of us will ever know for sure, unless the Lord Nobunaga from my reality returns. One of two things are certain to happen if that is the case. He would have either forgotten his first time here, or he would be stubborn enough to remember everything. Knowing him, he will most likely be stubborn enough.

[ She's a bit surprised to see Mitsuhide, but her gaze softens as she nods. ]

I can't imagine him not being stubborn... but this place has ways of surprising us. A-Are you... Are you doing alright, Master Mitsuhide? It cannot be easy losing someone from your own home, as well...

Why wouldn't I be alright? I know Lord Nobunaga can take care of himself. And I'm a grown man who doesn't need constant company.

It is good that you are, then. But I would still worry for you, Master Mitsuhide. Lord Nobunaga almost always brought you up, after all.

I know I would not feel quite right if I were left behind, even if it weren't by choice.

There is no guarantee they went home. They could have gone to yet another world. Many of us have been spirited away to multiple worlds such as this... Including myself. I've only been to one other world before this, but I even know someone who's been to two before this; he hasn't seen his home in years... Some of those worlds may be better than others, from the sounds of it. But there's no predicting anything. We may or may not remember those worlds; some do. I do. But I've heard when we return home, we forget everything that happened to us while spirited away. I knew someone in the other world who'd been home, forgotten, returned, remembered, and could confirm this is how it seems to go for others, too... I imagine— perhaps here it's the same. As far as I've heard, it's like our destinies are frozen back home, and nothing here impacts our futures there. For better or worse— we forget it all.

[ Zuko's obviously taken a lot of concern with this issue. It's a short monologue, but the sincerity and earnest focus in his voice is clear and even-toned. ]

[ She listens quietly, taking in what he's saying. It's not the first time she's heard this, of being sent to multiple worlds before this one. Curious indeed... ]

That's a bit... overwhelming, isn't it? To be sent to so many places, yet never knowing what happened when given the chance to return home?

What were the worlds you were sent to like? If.. it is not too painful to recall?

I, um— I do know what happened. Back home. Sort of... Two of my friends— my best friend and my sister, actually — they're from my future... So they've told me a little about what happened back home. There was a revolution that succeeded. The world war ended. The time travel stuff— that's more overwhelming, somehow, than being in multiple worlds.

The world I was in before this... it was difficult for me. The currency and your own energy and everything was powered by touching. I was exhausted all the time. I chose to work in a restaurant to make very little money just to get by — while my roommates were rich because they touched each other all the time. I helped start a support group for people who hate touching, too... There were moons that affected us monthly, all in different ways... Animal transformations... It was a bizarre place. I much prefer it here.

[ He feels awkward talking at such length over recording, but well, these are in-depth topics; the questions she's raised require proper answers. ]
