[Arriving in a new world should not have shaken her this much, yet Rika found herself stowed away in her room for the first day. The only link she had to Hinamizawa was the calendar page in her hand: June 30th. Everything else was gone; Stuck in another fragment, which she could not reach on her own. Not even that clumsy goddess would answer Rika when she has here.
She did have her familiar, a nekomata, to keep her company. Who was not as whiny as Hanyu. And a cellphone, which her 1980s self was woefully unprepared to use. She eventually flips it open and recognizes its similarity to the dial-up phone at her house.]
Mii... Can I be heard? Have I called anyone..? [She isn't confident that she reached a public network, so sighs sadly,] I do not have any friends to call here, do I? They're all back home... in danger. Counting on me...
[There's a sad wibble in her voice. It surprises even Rika to hear herself so close to tears. But the realization that she's separated from her friends is hitting her harder when she speaks the reality out loud. Rika has to wipe her eyes and draw in a calming breath. With some alarming skill, she masks her sadness under a more cheerful tone;]
... Sorry. My name is Rika Furude~! I am newly arrived. It is nice to meet everyone.
I have been told that my kitty friend and I can help out with magic. Is there a school for learning such a thing? Or... nihehe. [Rika pulls the device back slightly from her ear, realizing her mistake.] Maybe I should have called a number first. Phones do not magically connect to everyone at once, silly silly!

[His voice sounds kind as he explains since she's clearly in distress.]
I've heard there is a school though, a few have talked about it on here, too. You should be able to study magic there.

How lucky that the phones connect to everyone. I did not even see a cord on this one, you see... But I suppose I should expect as much from magic. Why does it say 'boomerang-guy?' Have I called a boomerang shop?

[Yet, at least.]
It's my username that I set for myself. Everyone on the network has one. You should set yours too when you think of one so you can be identified.

[Though, saying this aloud does remind her that she's in an entirely different world. He could be from some place very different as well... It's her hope for familiarity that makes Rika cling to the idea of Sokka being from a village like Hinamizawa.]
I will try that, thank you. You seem to know a lot about this place already, sir. Have you been here for very long?

[Rika's smile brightens, though sadness still lingers in her eyes. Fortunately, she isn't showing anyone her face yet.]
Do you also attend the school, sir? Is it for adults too? [He sounds older than her, in any case.]

[If he does end up attending university, it might be to take a single class he finds interesting.]

[She heard 'club' and it pains her that this probably isn't a games club. Still, it might help if she joined a club, right? Right?
It wouldn't be a betrayal to Mion?]
I am still quite new here. I do not know how to help or use my skills.

[Thrawn might be an adult, but he feels that it's important to pass his knowledge around to kids and be a mentor. He could very well have had a career as a teacher if his military career hadn't worked out.]
There are also places where you may safely practice and train with your magic outside of a school setting, such as gyms.

[Is this a magic she's supposed to learn, she wonders?]

[He's been finding creative uses for his own magic other than combat.]
I'm certain you could learn from the ground up with them.

Ah, but my manners are lacking. I have been speaking to you this entire time without asking your name. Is it okay if I ask what to call you, sir~? You can call me Rika~.

Howdy again, Rika. I know that it's hard to be away from friends, b-but... they might end up coming here, too. My best friend was here by themselves before I got here.

[Loneliness seeps into her tone, as does a shimmer of hope. She's so used to being the only one who can travel between worlds and remember that Rika had accidentally written off the possibility... But he's right. This place is different.]
You are quite fortunate. For two to cross paths across millions of worlds is quite the miracle, isn't it?

( For a moment, Asriel hesitates. He... hasn't told anyone the truth about Chara being here, but he can't help but think it'll help her. After all, the chance of seeing them was even more than just a slim chance. )
... Chara's... been gone for a really long time at home. ( He swallows - as if to stop the threat of any tears. He doesn't really want to entertain the thought of being separated again. For now, he just wants to enjoy the time they have together. )
S-So... if we can see each other again, then... I'm sure that you'll see your friends really soon.

Though, she does recognize that the chance to return some of his kindness.]
... Thank you for cheering me up. It is a hard topic to discuss, isn't it? A lonely one.

You're right... But, it's really easy to make new friends here, too. It's not really the same, but... it helps a lot.
