[He's used to the concept of a phone. Not that he necessarily had a cellphone himself but. The idea seems straightforward enough with talking to someone. Or writing a text. Kyo just hasn't been the best in keeping up to date with technology or pop culture. More prone to spending his time outside or training or such than worrying about that sort of thing. But he gets the basic idea. More or less. So what greets everyone is initially a closer up of his uniquely coloured eyes before it shifts in getting the rest of him in the picture. I hope this thing is working. Else I'm gonna look and feel pretty stupid. But. I'm one of the newer arrivals, I guess. Name's Kyo. I know a couple people from home are here as well, so. For anyone that helped look out for Tohru.....thanks.

As far as what I want to do here, I'm not sure. She mentioned magic and stuff but I'm still figuring all that out, I guess. On what I can do here. I dunno yet if back home, if that still applies here, with the zodi....never mind. [No need to bring up the zodiac curse. Not unless he has to. Back home it was more something known about with certain family members and staff only, after all. And Tohru. Always the exception.] There's an area for training, and a school for figuring out that magic stuff, right? so I'll try look into that, I guess. If that might help me with figuring whatever magic I have here now and how to use it. While I figure out what I'm gonna be doing here exactly, anyway. I was also wondering if there's a dojo around or not. I don't want to get too rusty with my martial arts. If anyone was keen to spar or something sometime.

[He sighs, running a hand through his hair, glancing down briefly.]

[How to help support himself and Tohru. He's only just got here so maybe that is understandable but also. This concept of thinking of the future isn't something he is used to. Given he is all but resigned to his fate in being locked away back home.

It's about now that his familiar, a bakeneko seems to sense his uneasy train of thought and comes to him, shifting right in the way of the camera and reaching to turn it off just as Kyo's in the middle of trying to tell him off.]

[Of course he cares about Tohru. He's just. Not yet actually admitted that. To her. In how he feels. Yet. So it's kinda. Gonna be awkward in that regard. But he's just grateful for any extra time with her given he assumes he's going home to be locked away after finishing school.]

[Now that made him curious. Why wouldn't he want to care for them back? Unless there was something else going on?]

I guess I just. I don't expect that. Necessarily. For anyone to really care about me.

[It's. Complicated. But it is what he has come to expect. Being the Cat of the zodiac and all. True some did, but they were definitely the exception. ]

[And here, there was a long pause on his end. While Kyo can't see it, there was a small smile.]

I'm sure there will be. I know it might not seem that way but there would be at least someone who cares. There always will be.

[After all, Ken was someone who felt the same way once before.]

It's just a matter of finding someone who does. I know I did.

I remember when I told Shigure if any girl liked me, she'd have to be crazy. I'm not....not that bad anymore, I'd like to think but. It's a gradual thing.

[Figuring himself out. What he wants to do. Who's important to him, regardless of whether they return his feelings or not.]

[There was a slight pause as he wondered if he should bring up a certain person whom he mentioned before but he'll keep that to himself for now. Instead?]

It wasn't a certain a person but rather a group of people? They let me in even after everything I've done. Let's just say they had a good reason for leaving me and yet, they didn't.

A group, huh? That's good. To have lots of people.

[Really, his younger family members were generally getting better over time in their relationship with Kyo. It's just none of them have been able to stand up to Akito to tell them not to lock Kyo up. They're still all just glad it isn't them, for all that Kyo had gotten to know them better over the last while with them meeting and visiting Tohru and all.]

You got that right, it sure beats feeling you don't have a burden to carry all by yourself.

[Granted, Ken was making generalizations based on his own experience. However, he wasn't sure if Kyo felt the same way.]

Especially when you know there are people who trust you.

A lot of people have their secrets. Their things they are dealing with. But hopefully they have at least someone they can talk to, I guess.

[At least one person to talk to. That would be the ideal. Even Kyo had that with Kazuma. With Tohru. And getting her to open up to him as well in him being able to tell with Tohru when she was upset or distracted with something.]

[Maybe it was him prying a little into too much but Ken couldn't help but be curious.]

Me? Ah. Well. Tohru's here. She knows my situation back home, mostly. So.

[He has her. At least. Even if he might not necessarily ever open up to many others. He did have her.]
