[He's used to the concept of a phone. Not that he necessarily had a cellphone himself but. The idea seems straightforward enough with talking to someone. Or writing a text. Kyo just hasn't been the best in keeping up to date with technology or pop culture. More prone to spending his time outside or training or such than worrying about that sort of thing. But he gets the basic idea. More or less. So what greets everyone is initially a closer up of his uniquely coloured eyes before it shifts in getting the rest of him in the picture. A red haired teenage boy.]

I hope this thing is working. Else I'm gonna look and feel pretty stupid. But. I'm one of the newer arrivals, I guess. Name's Kyo. I know a couple people from home are here as well, so. For anyone that helped look out for Tohru.....thanks.

As far as what I want to do here, I'm not sure. She mentioned magic and stuff but I'm still figuring all that out, I guess. On what I can do here. I dunno yet if back home, if that still applies here, with the zodi....never mind. [No need to bring up the zodiac curse. Not unless he has to. Back home it was more something known about with certain family members and staff only, after all. And Tohru. Always the exception.] There's an area for training, and a school for figuring out that magic stuff, right? so I'll try look into that, I guess. If that might help me with figuring whatever magic I have here now and how to use it. While I figure out what I'm gonna be doing here exactly, anyway. I was also wondering if there's a dojo around or not. I don't want to get too rusty with my martial arts. If anyone was keen to spar or something sometime.

[He sighs, running a hand through his hair, glancing down briefly.]

....someone called this place something like a second chance. I guess it is in a way. For me at least. Before....dealing with things back home, I mean. Having more time. [More time with Tohru. Given he's all but resigned himself to his fate as the Cat.] One good thing about this place even if I'm still figuring it all out. I haven't even thought about work or whatever.

[How to help support himself and Tohru. He's only just got here so maybe that is understandable but also. This concept of thinking of the future isn't something he is used to. Given he is all but resigned to his fate in being locked away back home.

It's about now that his familiar, a bakeneko seems to sense his uneasy train of thought and comes to him, shifting right in the way of the camera and reaching to turn it off just as Kyo's in the middle of trying to tell him off.]

It's a lot when you think it's all over and suddenly you just get that dropped on your lap, you know? Then you have to figure out what to do with it.

Even if he is a newcomer, there's a chance he'd have heard about the problems she'd caused from those he already knew in this world- and for that reason, she was careful to also avoid mentioning her close friendship with the person involved.]

( Tohru just happened to overhear what Kyo was saying on the network, and she can't help but be concerned. )

... Kyo, are you alright?

( She knows that being here... must be a little overwhelming. She can imagine that he feels free right now, but there's always the possibility of going back home. She can't say she understands completely. But, she wants to be there for him regardless. )

No? I guess. Depending on other people's situations back home. This might be like that for them too. It's kind of weird though. I made a deal with someone back home. And the time limit for that is running out, so. I guess being here, it gives me more time.

[He's being vague about it but. Only Tohru knows of the zodiac curse. His situation in being the Cat. What's expected of him and his fate. He sighs, giving a shrug, before giving some sort of attempt at a small smile to her.]

But uh. Sure. Junko, then.

[Kyo was newer. So it wasn't like Tohru had been able to fill him in on absolutely everything about this place yet, on everyone here. He's oblivious, but simply grateful for this Caster in pointing him in the right direction at least. For somewhere to go to train.]

Hm? Yeah. I'm okay. I just figured. I don't want to get rusty, so if someone here knows where I can go to train, if there's a dojo here or something. If there's anything else besides what you've told me I might need to know, is all.

[It's. A lot to adjust to. But he's trying to. As best as one can be expected to given his sudden arrival and all anyway. He pauses, glancing to her when she overhears and he hears her say his name. He hadn't meant to worry her. He's just trying to figure this place out, is all.]

Oh, you're a friend or family of Tohru? Good! She's was getting lonely being by herself. Most importantly, she fed Paimon good.

[Least that's what Paimon assume from their last conversation. Hi Kyo. Meet a curious child-like being.]

You didn't die, right? Why is this place a second chance for you?

[There was a lot of things that Ken could say back but there was one thing on his mind.]

It sure sounds like you have a lot to think about. You can think of this place as a second chance or at least, a place where it allows you to momentarily pause on whatever is going on with your life right now.

Y-yeah. We uh. Lived together back home when she needed somewhere to stay.

[Somewhere that wasn't a tent. Not that her grandfather's renovations could be helped when she had assured him she had somewhere to stay. Tohru shouldn't be lonely though, and Kyo can't help the way his expression probably briefly falls at that. She'd said about making new friends here but he knows it must have been hard for her. Without even her usual support of her two best friends, let alone the Sohma family. Still, his expression softens slightly at the mention of Tohru feeding them.]

She is a decent cook. Probably used to feeding me and the other two back home as well as herself so I'm not surprised if she kept making too much out of habit and offered it to everyone here.

But uh. Die? Wh-- no. Nothing like that. I just. I know what waits for me back home, is all. After I finish school. This place gives me a bit of a break, more time at least. Before that.

[He probably won't necessarily go into specifics further than that. Tohru aside, nobody knows about the zodiac and his being the Cat. His fate.]

Yeah. That's about it. A pause. Giving me more time at least. Even if I'm still figuring this place out and think it's all weird initially at least.

[Magic is not a thing back home, unless one counts movies and such. The zodiac curse was specific to the Sohma, and that wasn't necessarily magic as much as it was a promise, even if not one remembered to the full extent, remembered correctly since it was so long ago.]

[Souma is surfing the network with help from a friend when he happens across this message and... what ho?

Oh, boy. A lot of what this young fellow has to say seems... to hit a chord with him. Some of the way Kyo talks hits close to home. From his guess, this is a teen, so, there's a certain kind of protectiveness that prods him. A young person who sounds as if they have been through a hard life. He tries to think about what he himself was like at this age, and then proceeds very carefully.

So here is a twenty-five year old with very dark tanned skin and golden eyes with a slitted, cat-like pupil. He is wearing what his people use for farm work and physical training, a black long sleeved shirt that wraps around and ties closed. It might look to Kyo like what ninja wear on TV. There are a few leaves stuck in his mess of wavy hair, because he was foraging for food just a bit ago. He doesn't smile, but, his voice is very quiet, not threatening.]

Ah. I-I am also new. Well met, Kyo-san. I am called Souma, of the Dragon Bloodline of the Tribe of the Black Thread.

[Souma touches his right palm to his left fist and bows his head politely.]

I think... you may find that. This is more than a... a break. From that which you faced at your home.

I left my world nearly one year a-ago. I thought the same-- that I had to... t-to go back. But, days became months so quickly. Now I am... nnh.

[He trails off, and thinks carefully about what the words are he wants to say. It might be boring to wait, sorry. He's got a very slow pace.]

Pray, what is, "dojo"?

[Kyo pauses at the introduction. The name sounds so like his own family one. But evidently different.]

Not the only one then. New, I mean. Kyo Sohma. The dragon bloodline?

[He gives a nod then, in trying to consider the other's words, the implication they could well be here for a long time. Kyo isn't sure on how he feels about that yet. It all depends on how things go here. He's aware he certainly doesn't expect Tohru to be completely happy here, away from her Sohma friends, her family with her grandfather at least, her best friends at school. Even having him here doesn't change that she would still miss them.]

I'm not sure how long to expect to be here. I guess just. Prepare for it and see.....but a dojo is a place where you can train to learn, or you can teach martial arts. Hand to hand.

You settling it okay though? It is a lot to handle but it is better to just take it one step at a time.

[After all, when he arrived here, he really didn't know what to think about this place.]

There are a lot of people here who practice fighting in their own world, so... I'm sure that there's a place here where they'd be happy to have you.

( Still, she has a feeling that it isn't just that. She... knows that this world is so different than the one at home. )

( Always. She'll be here for him as much as she possibly can. )

More or less? It isn't like I'm alone. Tohru's here as well. She's helping me figure it all and I'm staying with her.

[For all that he has just recently admitted his feelings for her back home to himself. He. Isn't really considering the potential implications there in him living with her just the two of them, here. He just wants to be around to help her out. To make sure she isn't alone.]

But thanks. I know there's. Something I did back home that I haven't checked if I can here or not.

[Even if it didn't work here, he would probably still keep the beads on regardless. Since the curse is still active back home.]

I guess I'll see. See what they say, if there is something already set up.

[He's. Unsure on what to make of her saying that. He'd told her to not keep things in, to be selfish sometimes and that he would listen to her. Kyo's just. Not so used to it on the other hand with himself necessarily. The whole time, he's been keeping his past, details of it, from her after all. There's plenty of reasons for it. Mostly his own guilt, his own selfish desire to at least maintain their friendship if nothing else.

He tilts his head, raising an eyebrow briefly before leaning in and nodding. Things are complicated. But. He knows eventually he should probably come clean.]

I know. Same as I will for you.

Oh? What do you mean by that?

[And here, Ken wasn't too sure if he might be prying into something he shouldn't have. Although, it couldn't hurt to ask right? It was up to him to be truthful or not.]

Or is that rude to ask?

That's....only my family and Tohru know. Maybe eventually, people here, I'll tell some about it.

[About the curse. About the Cat's part to play in it specifically. But he just got here. Is just starting to get to know everyone, so he's not as sure he's comfortable about it yet. Maybe in time though. Once he realizes this seems more normal here in turning into and communicating with animals at least.]

I agreed to it. To the chance of -- well. I'm probably not going to be able to manage it. But I'll deal with that when I get home. Magic was only a thing in books or anime or movies or whatever back home. So this is....I'm still figuring it out.

[What magic he has and how to use it. He's only recently got here yet and all. Kyo is used to the animal transformations where his cat and True Form are concerned but has yet to figure it here.]

Don't worry! Paimon offered some yummy recipes to try. Then she made some dishes from her home too, so yummy!

[Paimon makes it known 'food is life' for her, look at her user name. Paimon is loaded with information but she can be horrible with cooking, so she needs to scout for people able to cook for her.

Yeah, from Paimon's knowledge, some people are revived when they land here. Not exactly sure how it all works, kind of creepy. [Ohhh- it sends her shivers, she's shaking.] At least they are offered second chances here?

So-[Let's jump away from that subject!] What's suppose to happen when you finish school? Taking over a huge family business and be super duper busy for the rest of your life? Be sent away for an arrange marriage your parents cooked up? Oh! Go on a top secret mission to uncover treasures before the Treasure Hoarders pound the loot first?
