[Being shown on the screen is a crude drawing of one Asriel Dreemurr, it's easy to at least tell what the holder of said drawing was trying to draw... For anyone who has met the monster boy that is.

Everyone else is SOL. ANYWAY, the picture moves away to show Chara with a serious look on their face.]

Okay so, I should have done this sooner just to be sure but like, whatever. I'm doing it now.

That picture? Is of my brother, Asriel. He's stupidly nice and kind and all that kind of stuff, but that's not the point of this.

[Deep breath.]

This is me telling the whole lot of you that if anyone does anything to hurt him? I'll ruin you.

[And then they're just going to go and turn off the video after saying that, because what else can they add to it? Nothing in their opinion.]

I can see why someone would, because they're horrible humans.

Humans.....make mistakes. We might fight, we might get mad, but. I don't see how someone would, not with someone as sweet as Asriel.

[Was she still considered human? Should she still consider herself human after her Journey? Colette wasn't the focus here though. Keeping Asriel safe was. She bites her lower lip, glancing to the camera.]

Is there someone here from home that would hurt him or something?

Humans did horrible things to monsters back home.

[And that's all Chara has to say on the subject, really. Don't get them started on how horrible humans can be, even though they're a child they could go on for a while on that topic.]

And I can name one person, but he thinks the world of them when they're not that great.

To monsters? Maybe they were scared?

[Which isn't an excuse. But it might be at least in part explaining on whatever happened? Colette isn't sure. But there's been some creatures back home they had to fight along the way with her Journey too. Colette's no stranger to fighting if she has to, even if generally she would rather not.]

So Asriel has a different opinion, a different experience with them to you. That seems up to them to decide if they trust and like this person.

[Some caution might be healthy. Sure. Some wariness around certain people. Colette is just......really not one to talk on this given she. Well, goes befriending ninja assassins sent to kill her and all......]

Being scared doesn't excuse it!

[Chara has big opinions on this subject, even though they never lived through the war and barely knew of it from what little they had gleaned during their life with Monsters.]

And he shouldn't trust this person at all, they decided to kill everyone so why should they get a free pass?

It doesn't. I'm just saying that might play a part. People are usually scared or unsure of things they aren't used to.

[It's part of the reason why she had tried to hide her transformation, besides the obvious of her wings, as she became an Angel. Not wanting to freak out Lloyd and the others with her gradually giving up her humanity.]

They -- what?

Humans and monsters lived together before they decided to be "scared".

[That's all Chara is going to elaborate on the subject, unless Colette says the right thing and who knows what that might be.]

They killed everyone, that's how I met them. And that's why they're not this great kind person everyone thinks they are.

They did? Then.....what happened? What changed?

[There were elves and humans back home. Half-elves not seeming to fit in with either society, but. This seemed different? Even with the Ranches, the Desians weren't running around just slaughtering every human they came across or anything.]

But...Asriel must have his reasons. For being attached to this person regardless of what they did.

I don't know, it was long before I was born. But a war happened, I know that much.

[It's very different indeed.]

Because he didn't know, so I told him.

[That was probably the case with a lot of worlds. Fighting. So many lives lost or impacted from wars. That being what had apparently set off Mithos back home after losing his sister Martel, according to Kratos.

If it had been her? Would she have told him? Would she have said anything?]

You did? Because you were worried for him?

Yes, between humans and monsters. Humans won.

[Their tone of voice when they say that is bitter, because even though they are human they don't agree with that outcome at all.]

That and I'm sick of everyone thinking that person is so good and pure and flawless!

[She isn't sure what to say to that. Fighting, the Desians were part of the reason she was going on her Journey back home. To try help deal with that. To stop it. It doesn't seem like Chara approves of the outcome of the humans winning although they seem to be a human themselves. Perhaps due to how they had won? Colette isn't sure exactly.]

I'm not sure anyone is. Flawless, I mean. I mean. That's part of anyone, right? That nobody is perfect.

Yeah.

[Again something Chara won't elaborate on unless the right things are asked.]

Yet everyone thinks of them like that, when they aren't. They're like every human ever, selfish and cruel.

I guess most anyone has the potential to be cruel, even unintentionally. But. I'd try to get to know someone myself before figuring if I want to be their friend or not. Maybe Asriel is the same.

[Sheena was. Sure a thing that happened. Even with the rest of the party being very Unsure about the ninja, Colette still wanted to meet her again and worried about her after her falling down that passage. So she could understand if Asriel wanted to make their own decision on their friendships.]

They weren't unintentional in what they did, they did it on purpose. And you can't know someone fully just by being their friend.

[Chara is an expert on that last bit, they don't let anyone get that close to them. Not even Asriel.]

You don't think so? I suppose, even friends hide things from each other.

[It was true. She hid the truth, the full extent of what her fate was from Lloyd on her Journey. He only found out because of the others telling him. So she can't exactly go denying that when she herself had hidden things from her friends.]

People hide a lot, even family hides stuff from each other.

[Chara is speaking as an expert on this subject.]

Mine didn't. But my father and grandmother were probably very few that knew the truth or at least what we thought as the truth back then.

[Kratos revealed that basically everything she thought she knew, took for granted as fact back then was a lie. So she isn't sure if that counts. And Remiel had been the one lying about being her father. So her family hadn't lied about that.]

You say they didn't, but do you know for sure? You can't ever know for sure.

I know because they never lied about being my family. Not the way Remiel did. Claiming to be my father when he wasn't.

[For one example, at least. Colette was unsure at first when Remiel claimed her as his daughter. But it had always been Frank. He'd been the one there, the one that had raised her.]

That's just one thing that they haven't lied about, who knows what they have lied to you about.

[Everyone lies in Chara's book.]

If anything, I'm the liar. For keeping things from my friends. My family as far as I know never lied. They were mistaken, but we were all lied to by the Church on what was going on.

[So. It's complicated. To say the least, in the truth of the Chosen system. The truth about the history of Mithos and Martel.]

You're still not proving me wrong then.

Maybe not. But not all lies are mean ones. Are lies to hurt someone. Sometimes we might lie to try protect someone, to not upset them. To not worry them.

[Even with a lie of omission.]

Even still, some lies shouldn't be told.
