Okay so, I should have done this sooner just to be sure but like, whatever. I'm doing it now.

That picture? Is of my brother, Asriel. He's stupidly nice and kind and all that kind of stuff, but that's not the point of this.

This is me telling the whole lot of you that if anyone does anything to hurt him? I'll ruin you.

[And then they're just going to go and turn off the video after saying that, because what else can they add to it? Nothing in their opinion.]

They weren't unintentional in what they did, they did it on purpose. And you can't know someone fully just by being their friend.

[Chara is an expert on that last bit, they don't let anyone get that close to them. Not even Asriel.]

You don't think so? I suppose, even friends hide things from each other.

[It was true. She hid the truth, the full extent of what her fate was from Lloyd on her Journey. He only found out because of the others telling him. So she can't exactly go denying that when she herself had hidden things from her friends.]

People hide a lot, even family hides stuff from each other.

Mine didn't. But my father and grandmother were probably very few that knew the truth or at least what we thought as the truth back then.

[Kratos revealed that basically everything she thought she knew, took for granted as fact back then was a lie. So she isn't sure if that counts. And Remiel had been the one lying about being her father. So her family hadn't lied about that.]

You say they didn't, but do you know for sure? You can't ever know for sure.

I know because they never lied about being my family. Not the way Remiel did. Claiming to be my father when he wasn't.

[For one example, at least. Colette was unsure at first when Remiel claimed her as his daughter. But it had always been Frank. He'd been the one there, the one that had raised her.]

That's just one thing that they haven't lied about, who knows what they have lied to you about.

If anything, I'm the liar. For keeping things from my friends. My family as far as I know never lied. They were mistaken, but we were all lied to by the Church on what was going on.

[So. It's complicated. To say the least, in the truth of the Chosen system. The truth about the history of Mithos and Martel.]

Maybe not. But not all lies are mean ones. Are lies to hurt someone. Sometimes we might lie to try protect someone, to not upset them. To not worry them.

[Even with a lie of omission.]

[Haa. Even with that. Colette's. Well, more of a lie of omission in not telling Lloyd her feelings for him. Because of the whole being expected to sacrifice herself thing.]

[They actually mean normal love and not LOVE, which is a whole different beast.]

What about it? I know it's. It can be complicated. But, if you care about someone, you should let them know.

[However that love forms. Familial, platonic or romantic. Colette may not have told Lloyd outright of her feelings but she took every chance she had to cheer him up, to reassure and encourage him. To be there for him.]

But lying about it is a horrible thing to do, like saying you love someone when you don't actually feel that way about them at all.

[For Colette it is usually more reassuring others she is okay when she isn't exactly at a hundred percent. Or lying by omission in leaving details out if that were to count.]

Good for you, most people have though.

[Again talking as though they have experience with this.]

People lie for a lot of different reasons. That doesn't automatically make them a bad person.

[They have their reasons? Whatever those are. Even if it might be upsetting to admit, to think that those you care about might be lying to you. That's not an easy thing to realize as you get older and more perceptive about the people and world around you.]

[Chara is a jaded little thing, they basically think everyone lies about everything.]

It might seem wrong to you. Maybe to some others. Of course, most of the time it's best to be honest but. People lie for all sorts of reasons. I recently found out everything I thought I knew about history, about my role as Chosen, was a lie. I know what it feels like to have been lied to.

They didn't necessarily realize it was a lie. It had been thousands of years since with Mithos and Martel back then, so. The stories of course changed over time.....

[That is to say. Yes. She does. Even Kratos who knew the whole time the whole thing was a lie to get Colette to agree to it all in her becoming a vessel for Martel.]
