OKAY. SO.
when Oda Nobunaga died in life, their life passed into legend, like i said. that qualifies them to have their spirit (or idk maybe a copy of their spirit? this is the part i know is kinda vague) goes to this like. metaphysical place called the Throne of Heroes.
so whenever a magus or like even the World itself needs a champion, they summon a Heroic Spirit from there as a Servant. normally, Oda Nobunaga is summoned under the class of Archer (because i fuckin loved guns and formed a specific style of anti-calvary formation with them) but like
me, specifically, im like. a glitch. my Spirit Origin is weird and seems to be made up of "possibilities" rather than anything else. thats why my class is Avenger.
[ it also meant a whole lot of other, more personal things, but he was going to leave that aside, for now. ]

This seems not terribly unlike how some arcane users can summon familiars, spirit guardians, or manifest aspects of their own psyches in unique forms.

assuming theyre not gods, anyways i think theres like. a rule against divine spirits.

Where I am from, there is a class of arcane user commonly known as "warlock." It is an umbrella term for those who seek power by creating pacts for that power with a patron. Typically, patrons tend to be things like major or minor gods, anthropomorphized and empowered spirits of concepts (nature, wealth, etc.), or powerful denizens of other realms (demons, fey, etc.).
That sounds very similar to what you've described, and I suppose that could be another shared link that creates this tangled chain of realms that is scattered at our feet, so to speak.
