Hello, fellows! It's Sir Gareth of Orkney, again, and this time with a question that (mostly) has nothing to do with baking!

Namely, I'm used to living among others. Castle Orkney wasn't particularly large so my brothers and I were used to sharing quarters before we ever joined the knighthood, and then that was basically a barracks situation. And then, in Chaldea and later the Storm Border, all of us Heroic Spirits had to basically share living spaces, too.\

Basically, what I'm asking is; what is your ideal roommate? If you must share your living space, what sort of person would you prefer? I think I'll need to soon get used to more modern ideas of what roommates are like.

I'd just rather have said approval. I don't want him to be upset.

Yeah. Sorry, you're right. I just can't get over the reaction he's gonna have, which I just made up in my head, but that's not stopping me from not getting over it.

Have you two had any chance to talk, since he arrived?

Yeah. Believe me, we've had an encounter or two.

[Inside Kadoc's head right now, there's a humorous montage sequence happening of the various conversations he's had with Gawain since he arrived, including the one Gawain didn't know was Kadoc. Yakety Sax plays in the background.]

We've got a formal truce in place, but that doesn't mean he likes or trusts me.

It will take time. He hasn't had the experiences with you that I have. But I trust he'll get there. At least, I hope he'll see what a good friend you've been to me.

I'm not exactly offended. If you were the only outlier in Chaldea, after everything? I'd understand.

He offered me more than I expected when he stepped in to save me during the trials.

He stepped in and stopped me from doing something stupid. That's how I found out he'd even arrived at all.

What "something stupid" was it that he had to stop you from?

Did you go through the one with the sirens?

[His great hope is that she will have, and she'll know well enough to just guess and fill in the details on her own without anything at all needing to be spoken. Wouldn't that be handy! Too good to be true, probably.]

[ Ah... Yeah, she had... with Medea. That wail she'd let out when Gareth finally had her tackled to the ground would never leave her memory. It was like a scar... ]

Yes, I experienced that with someone else. I apologize for coming off callously with such a thing.

You didn't. I'm just glad I don't have to explain the whole situation.

I mean, if you actually wanted to hear about it sometime, I guess you're the first person I'd tell. But it's not like it's a fun story. Obviously.

I owe your brother for stepping in.

Maybe we'll talk about it sometime, but only if you really want to. Right now, I'm just glad my brother is the way he is. Even if he wasn't a knight, he could never stand to simply be a bystander.
