Hi friends! It's me again. You'll all be thrilled to hear that I had a great idea.

What is this idea, you ask? Well... I want to throw a feast! In my homeland they're a great way for people to come together, eat ourselves stupid, and make merry. We could all use some of that with everything that's been happening lately. The spring ball already feels like forever ago, and not everyone was here to enjoy it.

There's just a few simple rules: you have to bring some food or drink from your world, or as close as you can get! And you'd better label it so we all know which foods are from where.
[...He's not actually going to enforce this rule, he just thinks it'd be more fun. And educational!]

The other rules are absolutely NO fighting, and no tying each other to trees to get attention, no matter how fun and cute it may seem on paper.

[he's naming no names!! you know who you are!]

I'll send out the location of the feast closer to the time. As for timing -- how about the last day of this moon? That way you have no excuse not to prepare something, and spread the word to people who are bad at using these things!

I'm counting on you all.

Alright. I'll consider it, then.

And perhaps with you playing, it shan't be difficult to get Zuko to join in, then you'll know two people there.

[And so will she.]

Ah well, while Zuko is very talented, I'm not sure how well the two instruments would pair. It is a very forlorn sound, and while beautiful, I think it stands alone best. Not that I can't, of course! I can try... but that will be up to him.

Honestly, playing for strangers is not so bad...

[of course any and all with CR are welcome to tag in or be in attendance]

I will need an instrument provided and in-tune. However if that is too difficult, I have a keyboard. It may need some amplification if that's what we end up using. It won't sound as strong, but... if it's needed, it'll be a good last resort.

Perhaps then, a singer accompaniment for a more upbeat sound?

opera does pair well with piano, though I'd have to meet her to discuss setting up an accompaniment with her. Do you know her username so that I may ask after you've invited her to sing?

We can also speak to Ren, he may know of several singers willing to volunteer, he did put together the Valentine's Day Concert.

Did someone call for a singer? Hello, I'm Dorothea. I certainly wouldn't mind providing my vocal talents at this fĂȘte. I have a sizeable selection of music memorized, but if I'm to be accompanied then I'd need to have the sheet music a few days in advance.

Honestly, if you were to pick a song, I'd play for you. I may need help acquiring sheet music, but I am not opposed to using it, practicing off of it, and playing for you.

I can write sheet music for any song I know, so that's no problem. A more upbeat selection would be best for a party, I think. I'm available any time to practice.

Whatever song suits the mood best, then. You go ahead and I will play however you'd like. I'm available as well, but maybe not today. Should I text and meet up with you, or would you like to come and visit me so that way I won't have to move the keyboard?

Not today, certainly--I'd need a day or so at least to write the sheet music. I can come to you easily enough, and if we find a lute somewhere in town I can provide some accompaniment of my own.

Take your time. We have several weeks at least until the 'last day of this moon'. Ah, I'm sure we can find a lute.

A pleasure to meet you, Dorothea, I am thrilled we'll get to hear you sing for the party! I've become incredibly partial to opera since learning of it.

The pleasure's all mine, dear. Have you gotten the chance to see an opera performed or have you only been able to listen to a recording of it?
beautyrest: (Too beautiful to be real)

[personal profile] beautyrest 2021-06-19 05:47 am (UTC)(link)
I have only heard recordings, I confess. But they are beautiful all the same. They fill my heart and head with so many beautiful emotions.

Well, then, you absolutely must attend a proper performance sometime. There's nothing like it. The pageantry is simply unparalleled--the costumes, the sets, the stage-magic... it's all quite splendid.

Which... one would you recommend as a first opera? I've never been to a play or anything of the sort. So I would greatly appreciate any recommendations from someone much more knowledgable than I.
