Hi friends! It's me again. You'll all be thrilled to hear that I had a great idea.

What is this idea, you ask? Well... I want to throw a feast! In my homeland they're a great way for people to come together, eat ourselves stupid, and make merry. We could all use some of that with everything that's been happening lately. The spring ball already feels like forever ago, and not everyone was here to enjoy it.

There's just a few simple rules: you have to bring some food or drink from your world, or as close as you can get! And you'd better label it so we all know which foods are from where. [...He's not actually going to enforce this rule, he just thinks it'd be more fun. And educational!]

The other rules are absolutely NO fighting, and no tying each other to trees to get attention, no matter how fun and cute it may seem on paper.

[he's naming no names!! you know who you are!]

I'll send out the location of the feast closer to the time. As for timing -- how about the last day of this moon? That way you have no excuse not to prepare something, and spread the word to people who are bad at using these things!

I'm counting on you all.

No, it's absolutely a thing.

For example, I like going for a ride on a wyvern or a horse. For fun, and to clear my head, not just for training or battle.

[monostich]

But how do you know that’s what you should be doing with your time? Aren’t there more important things to be done?

If I focused only on what I needed to do rather than what I enjoyed doing, that would be a pretty dull existence. Things are tough enough in my world for me to want to take the little pleasures where I can.

As for what a wyvern is...

[He switches to video, holding up a white wyvern the size of a large cat, and it peers at the camera with golden eyes.]

I have one right here! Although she's the size of a familiar rather than a full-sized wyvern, so just imagine this but much bigger.

[monostich]

[Oh, a video?

...Oh!]

It looks very cute.

[But there's a small pause, Kaede's brows knitting together.]

What was so bad about your world you needed to find things to enjoy? I- I mean... It sounds like you were trying to escape something.

[leicesters]

She's positively adorable, isn't she?

[She seems pleased by the praise, or at least the petting she's getting along her scaly neck as they talk.]

There was a long war in my world. Still is, really, but I can't help finish it until we're done with things here.

[monostich]

Yes, I think she is.

[A war... Kaede's frown deepens at that, before he seems to remember he's on video and schools his expression into something more neutral.]

And what do you plan on doing once the war is done?

[leicesters]

I'll go home and keep working on my dream. No rest for the wicked, and all that!

[And all the more reason to have fun while he can.]

The wicked?

[Does he have to reevaluate his opinion of Claude??]

What is your dream, exactly?

[leicesters]

Oh, I won't bore you with the details. The point is, it'll take a lot of hard work, so I can't let myself get burned out before I even achieve it.

You make it sound like you’re going to crush everyone under your heel.

[leicesters]

That's a bit of a dramatic conclusion, don't you think? I'd rather no one got crushed at all, if I can help it.

[monostich]

You’re planning on winning this war of yours, aren’t you? That’s what people who win wars do.

[leicesters]

[He sighs wearily, some of his cheerful facade slipping. Well, there's no sugarcoating that.]

I suppose that's my fault for being vague -- the war is already as good as over. The remaining threat is something else entirely.

Once that's over and done with, though, my dreams need a peaceful world to become a reality. The war was never something I wanted, believe me.

[monostich]

[Sus.]

I don't know that such a thing as a peaceful world is truly possible. Somehow, somewhere, people in power will find a way to make the helpless suffer.

[This... Took a turn. But congratulations? You've found one of the few things Kaede will fight about, Claude!]

[leicesters]

A land free of war is at least a start to build on. So long as people are fighting and killing each other, that will only sow more hatred, fear and division. That's the opposite of what I want.

[He's distracted by his wyvern wriggling in his arms before hopping away with a beat of her wings. Surprised out of his thoughts, he lets her go, looking sheepishly back at the camera.]

Ah, right-- but how did we get to this topic? The whole point of a feast is to forget all that stuff, you know.

[monostich]

It’s easy to say that.

[But he’s not going to keep harping on about it, not when it seems like even the wyvern is done with this conversation.]

I wouldn’t know. Feasts aren’t exactly something I’ve been to.

[leicesters]

Well, you'll know soon enough! I'm sure you'll have a good time.

[Probably. Maybe. If nothing else, he'll have bread.]
