Hello!
My name is Makoto Tachibana, I’m a recent arrival although this actually isn’t my first time being in another world. So I have some idea what to do with myself, although I’m still learning about this place.
Anyway!
What I’d like to do is offer my services as a swim coach. Or teacher, rather, since I don’t think Camelot had any swim teams or clubs. I’m still looking to see where I’d be able to use a public pool but I figured I could see if anyone wants to learn to swim? I have experience both from at home as a captain of the Iwatobi high swim club and as an assistant coach at the public swim club teach kids. I also did the same on Lunatia, the other world I’d been to before Camelot. I taught there for about six months. Kids and adults that time, although mostly kids.
Kids are generally what I’m used to but you can be any age to learn to swim. Just let me know if you’re interested!
I’ll need to work out the details a bit later in terms of payment and scheduling, this is mostly an interest check for now.
Thank you!

Yes, I am experience. Not just with kids but adults as well, including one of my teammates. Although he was a bit of a team effort ^_^;;

Other quests do not involve the water at all, which I have done, but it is not good to remain unprepared and unskilled.
According to Chamber, my service hours translate to ~17.54 standard years (as measured in this world).
[ and where he comes from, "hours of service" is totally equal to how long someone's been alive since everyone's conscripted right into the military just by being born. you know... perfectly normal, average stuff. ]
no subject
Service hours?
no subject
In the Galactic Alliance, one's hours of military service are also an acceptable measure of one's age. It is easy to forget that this is not the case elsewhere.
no subject
So you're... seventeen years old? And you've always been in the military?
no subject
This is the behavioural objective of the human race; thus, military service is compulsory. Those who cannot fight cannot live.

My name is Ren, I'm his friend from Lunatia.
no subject
Your name does sound familiar, so I'm sure he's mentioned you before! I'm glad we weren't the only ones to come from Lunatia, but I didn't expect to land in King Arthur's court.
Looks like we're a bit more involved in helping save the place?

It would seem like it. Learning magic will help out a lot, so hopefully you got magic you're comfortable with
no subject
So far, I know I have some elemental magic, not too different from the blessings it seems. Not sure what else I have yet.
no subject
It'll come to you in time. Mine are healing and kinetic, so if you ever catch a flu or something, you can count on me.

I wouldn't mind learning how to swim but I'm wondering how I can pay you later.
no subject
If need be, I'd just get another job. No biggie!

It just doesn't seem fair.

[And, you know, triggery for some people. Like Makoto, who is afraid of the ocean.]

[But at the same time...?]
I wonder if the school is hiring anyone who can teach everyone to swim.

[This is goddamn surreal, but hey, they're both getting used to the multiverse rodeo by now, aren't they?]
I saw you were told already, but there's maybe a dozen or so people from Prismatica here (not all from that timeline, though, so just a handful of us remember). There's nothing like the moonblessings here, so living is a little easier! That said I haven't seen a pool either (haven't been looking for one, in fairness). Seems like everyone just swims in the lake right now since it got warm enough.
no subject
Not everyone remembers? That's... kind of sad. I'm glad I remember, JJ too.
[Not too long before they arrived here, JJ had proposed so, that would have been incredibly heartbreaking had one of them forgotten. :(]
Ah... I think I'd rather avoid the lake for now. But I'll see what I can find! Thank you, though. How have you been though? How long have you been here?
no subject
I've been OK, thank you. It's been almost half a year for me already.
[Damn, time does fly, doesn't it...]
Staying away from the lake is a good idea, there are many strange creatures in there. So scratch what I said.
...
Did you come directly from Prismatica? Or had you gone home?
[Avalon probably doesn't differentiate between worlds when it comes to pulling in suitable helpers, but this is the first time he sees someone arrive from Prismatica with their memories intact, so he wants confirmation.]
no subject
I came straight from Prismatica, but they'd just made the announcement about being able to go home. JJ and I had been discussing what we would like to do and how we would go about it. But that's obviously been put on hold now.
no subject
[It's surreal to think that Makoto and JJ were pulled right from the restoration of Prismatica while Hijikata already went home and back several times, but it's not really out of the ordinary, all things considered.]
It'll be a long time until then for sure, but just in case, if we get time moving again but end up stuck here, I've got my crystal with me, so I can take you guys along. I expect that Merlin will figure something out for everyone, though.
[No pressure, Merlin.]
no subject
[That's just how these things be, unfortunately!]
I appreciate the kind gesture nonetheless, Hijikata-san. I remember hearing about crystals when it was explained. I wish we had at least gotten them before our arrival here but... well, I'll just have to hope that if things go well, we can return home regardless!
How have you been, anyway? Since you've been longer here than myself, what can you tell me about this place? They have some technology like these phones but no cars or anything, it's weird.
no subject
Good question. I guess the easiest summary is: this place has developed in isolation for a long time (since the 500s or earlier). They had little contact with the outside world, but some influences did get through (hence the phones and such), but aesthetically they've just been doing their own thing. I guess everything that's bad for nature (cars, factories, etc.) simply wasn't wanted here. They're big on balance and harmony and all that. Also a lot of stuff runs on magic here rather than e.g. electricity.

What do you mean this isn’t your first time being in another world?
This a common occurrence for you?

Sorry to say I won't be taking you up on your offer for swimming lessons.
Me and water don't get along.

...
How much? I'm not exactly rolling in money here.
[yes, she could ask a friend, but Toph doesn't really want to.]

I’ll need to pay rent eventually I’m sure but I’m not interested in charging too much either. People learning to swim is important to me.
