[The video cuts to Belgium wearing her fatigues and looking at the glass of pale ale in her hand with a thinking face. Drinking culture here seemed to be as strong as it was back home. Which made sense, given that this place was a bit like a fantasy version of England.]
I've been thinking, what is alcohol like in everyone else's home?

I haven't tried much of the European or Portuguese drinks because they seemed pretty terrible.
I had tequila here though, I liked the poprocks most! [Erm so he had a Poprock red margarita.]

Portugal's drinks are fine in their own right.
It sounds as though you might enjoy cocktails then. [She kind of figured as much. Pop Rocks the candy are more of an American thing.] Still this must be the first time you've had more diversified drinks I'm guessing.

Yes! Although I still think chocolate is better in desserts than drinks.

The wine here is nowhere near as good as it was back home- and I can't find any bar that serves chacha either.
[Caster may be a bit of a wine snob don't mind her.]

I don't think wine has ever really been Mr. England's thing. [She trails off a little bit.] Ah, that's a type of rum though isn't it?
no subject
[Mr. England? That was a very weird turn of phrase. Let's file that away in strange oddities for now.]
Chacha's traditional C- Georgian pomace brandy. [Caster had to correct herself- a mental reminder that 'Colchis' wasn't named as such anymore.]
...But no, I don't believe England has ever been particularly known for its wine.

Lots of variety where I came from. Definitely plenty of wine and beer but also lots of stronger stuff. Our bars were more like the restaurants or cafes here but with lots of drink to be had. Also because of the local political situation, some of the bars had other purposes as a cover for groups working against some of the bad shit going down back home. Was staff at one of those sorts of bars.

Mostly wine. White and red.

My experience really kind of begins and ends with beer. I hear there are English liquors, but I've not tried any of them.

[She takes a swig out of her mug in thought, before popping a roasted peanut into her mouth.]
Did you have any specific beers that you favored then, Gareth?
