[ Attached is a picture of one of the spider nests in the Red Hills. It's from a wary distance but there are no spiders visible; only their many, many webs. The picture comes with a VOICED message: ]

I had thought to tackle this task myself, but I quite overestimated the number of arachnids here. I would like to collect some of this venom for myself in addition to what this quest asks, and for that I require some help.

[ A pause. ]

A healer would be a boon but I care not so long as you are capable.

That will depend on how cooperative these creatures are. But do feel free to threaten it menacingly.

[ He slips the handle and its precious vial between the bars of the nearest trap and pokes the spider with the end. It shrinks in, its multitude of eyes glaring at him and at the intrusive item prodding it. ]

Hmm...

[ He gestures for his familiar to circle around. It snaps its jaws near the spider's huddled form. Thus provoked, it lunges forward and attempts to bite the stone arm Emet is holding through the bars. Venom trickles into the vial - and all around it as well. It's quick to let go and the Ascian quickly withdraws his makeshift tool, inspecting the takings. ]

Inelegant, but it will do. How do you fare?

[ Bakugou takes time to agitate his own. Teasing it a bit with both fire and vial. At least it's enough to get those fangs clicking and spider biting.

When he's ready for it, Katsuki lets the spider do just that. It gets its fang stuck in the vial and there comes that venom. ]

Looks like I got a bite.

[emet_sulk]

Wonderful.

[ He repeats the trick on the remaining captive until the spiders wise up to what he's doing and stop taking his bait. All in all, he's pleased as he inspects the vials of venom they've taken together. ]

Time to let them scurry home. Would you like to do the honour of freeing them, my boy?

[ He gestures to the earthen cages, smirking slightly. He's not quite proficient enough to break them down himself right now. ]

[ Bakugou frowns, making a face. He supposes that there's no sense in doing anything but releasing the spiders. They really aren't doing any harm now are they? ]

I guess if I have to.

[ The only thing that Bakugou can think of doing is shooting down some beams of light that solidify into barriers - almost like blades severing the earth's grip on the spiders. Then they disappear almost instantly. ]

[emet_sulk]

[ He watches them skitter off. A multitude of eyes gleam from the recesses of the cave but they remain too wary to approach. Still, best not to tempt fate.

He carefully cleans off the vials they managed to collect and slots them back into place on his belt. ​]

Let us be off then before they decide to attack us again. Would you like to take one of these vials yourself for the quest-giver?

[ He looks at the way that the vials are placed on the belt. It's probably better that the old man holds onto them for now. ]

That was kind of the purpose. Wish I'd gotten another one though.

[ to give to a certain nerd who would probably want to fuss with that venom. Augh. ]

[emet_sulk]

Oh? Planning to kill someone, are you?

[ He starts walking at a brisk pace away from the spiders' lair. His voice is light and humorous as he asks the question. ]

Hah? No?

[ WHY DO PEOPLE ASK HIM THESE SORTS OF THINGS!? ]

It's for the shitty nerd back at the house!

[emet_sulk]

[ He starts laughing quietly. ]

And who might they be? I have never heard of a 'nerd' before.

[apshot]

A nerd is a nerd is a nerd!

[ Bullshit this old man doesn't know what one is! ]

And this one happens to not be any of your business.

[emet_sulk]

Ahh, I see.

[ No, he doesn't. Still, once they're safely away from the spiders' territory, he takes out two vials and turns, holding them out for Bakugou to take. ]

My thanks again, for your help. You know the way back to the city, yes?

[ Hoo boy whats the old man going to do when he finds out that Bakugou and Deku are "good friends?" Probably nothing, but it's an interesting dynamic all the same.

Regardless of all of that, Katsuki is snatching up the vials. He looks surprised for a moment that he's being thanked. The blonde huffs and bunches his shoulders. A bit embarrassing, honestly. ]

Yeah, yeah. I know how to get back.

[emet_sulk]

Then take care.

[ As he turns away, he waves lazily over his shoulder. He will have to get more assistance for additional vials of venom but he had plenty of takers last he looked. Hopefully this boy's friend appreciates the gift. ]
