[ Attached is a picture of one of the spider nests in the Red Hills. It's from a wary distance but there are no spiders visible; only their many, many webs. The picture comes with a VOICED message: ]

I had thought to tackle this task myself, but I quite overestimated the number of arachnids here. I would like to collect some of this venom for myself in addition to what this quest asks, and for that I require some help.

[ A pause. ]

A healer would be a boon but I care not so long as you are capable.

I have all I need for the time being. Although, some food may not go amiss. I can repay you in coin, or you may take some of the potions I plan to brew.

You have no need to repay me. Just a name would be suitable. You may call me Jakurai.

Emet-Selch. I have made a small camp atop one of the hills, under a tree. Call me if you have trouble finding me.

[ Said camp isn't really a 'camp' so much as a sleeping bag, a fire pit, and bags of supplies in a neat pile. There's also a rented horse tethered to the aforementioned tree. ]

I will head out there, please be patient for a short amount of time.

[Very shortly after he said he would begin heading out there, he does. It isn't like he isn't a man of his word.

He comes bearing a bag of both food and supplies-- should they need medical supplies anyways. You never really know when and where you will run into trouble where you need good old fashioned supplies.]

Emet-san, I am assuming?

[emet_sulk]

[ He looks up from his book, noting the bags they carry. The book shuts and is put aside before he stands to greet them. ]

You must be 'Jakurai'. That is a generous bag you carry. My thanks.

One can never be too prepared, I say.

[He sets them down.]

Are you in need of any assistance currently? Bitten by one of the spiders yourself?

[emet_sulk]

If I had been, I think I would already be tightly wrapped in the creatures' webs. Their venom is a paralytic as I understand.

[ He gets to his feet and stretches, covering a yawn. ]

Well then. Shall we try and capture one now?

[zazen]

Well met, there.

[He pulls back his hair, not really a fan of it getting in the way while they work.]

Of course. Had you any plans of how this would happen once you found help from another?

[emet_sulk]

'Twould depend upon whether you wield any other magic besides healing. If it has no practical use in combat then I will have to lure them out myself and trust you to keep me alive.

[ He's not a fan of being reckless, that said, but he can't imagine standing around waiting for someone to get hurt to be terribly interesting. ]

[zazen]

I have enough awareness that I believe we should be okay. But in any case, you can trust me to keep you alive.

[ Jakurai isn’t too old! He’s fairly certain he can keep someone up as well as possibly kick a spider in the face.

He stands at the ready. ]

[ He chuckles and shakes his head pointing further out. ]

They have a nest over there. Come. They should have scouts nearby we can pick off.

[ As if he would make his camp that close to them! Emet-Selch leads the way down. The webs start growing thicker here and things start to grow quiet. He slows, listening for an approaching spider. ]

[He just chuckles, low and under his breath. Of course he didn't assume his new acquaintance was foolish to make a camp close. He was actually fairly certain that he would be able to both keep Emet alive, and help pick them off.

It would depend on how well they can rely on one another in this time.]

[He chooses, at the moment, not to say much more. He wouldn't want to be the one to tip off the spiders into attacking right away.]

[ In time, they reach the vestiges of the spiders' home. Webs cling to the trees. Smaller spiders scuttle away at their approach. Emet-Selch halts, bends down to pick up a stick, and begins to prod the webs. ]

If a swarm should approach, retreat immediately. I did not come here planning to die.
